* Diavolo is the prideful mafia boss of Passione, and a man of mystery. Born in an all-women prison, it was said he UsedToBeASweetKid, but ''something'' happened and he became insanely paranoid. Seeking to keep himself unknown while believing himself as fate's chosen and destined emperor of the world, he is a man to fear due to his position of power and instability. He is trying to make his presence known to the bosses of other criminal organizations in the Pantheon to make his gang even stronger. He doesn't want to be ''too'' exposed, though, [[DisproportionateRetribution and will do terrible things to those who come looking]]. His decision to murder his own daughter to hide his identity was the last straw for Bruno and his gang. Ultimately [[BadBoss his cruel treatment of his sub-ordinates]] and LackOfEmpathy led to his downfall under Giorno Giovanna. And as he is destined to forever die with no end in sight, [[FateWorseThanDeath his failures shall forever be rubbed in his face]].
* He uses his Stand King Crimson to erase time for ten seconds and his "sub-Stand" Epitaph to see what happens in those ten seconds. To some, this may seem laughably weak, but his Stand dishes out {{Megaton Punch}}es like they're candy and nobody else knows what happens in those ten seconds, leaving them dazed and open to KC's attacks. Clearly, he is not to be underestimated. King Crimson is so strong, it can match the power of other Stands' [[RapidFireFisticuffs repeated blows]] with just one mighty punch. When asked how his power works when he isn't in the mood to explain, he'll make Doppio say "[[MemeticMutation It just works!]]" in response.
* Besides being incognito, his ultimate goal is to get a Stand Arrow in order to make his Stand ''even more'' powerful [[TakeOverTheWorld so he may be emperor of the world]]. He's made dealings with Moriarty in his attempts to take it. It's said that if he ''did'' get a more powerful Stand, it would be able to kill everyone with sheer [[MindScrew mind-fuckery]] alone. What King Crimson Requiem would really be like is something often speculated in the Trope Pantheon, and the Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfGood is working to ensure it never goes beyond speculation. Dialga is making sure he never gets that kind of power as it despises how King Crimson messes with time.
* Words can't describe the depth of the hatred he has for Giorno. Since he used the Stand Arrow on himself and sentenced Diavolo to what should have been a FateWorseThanDeath, Diavolo plans to do things a hundred times worse to the boy who usurped Passione from him. He himself doesn't know how his eternal cycle of death and revival stopped, but he's grateful for the second chance he's been given. And words cannot describe the utter outrage Giorno and his gang had that he was free in the Trope Pantheon. How did the other Jojo deities react to his ascension?
** La Squadra Esecuzioni were incredibly pissed off. Diavolo had already set them and Giorno's gang against one another, so he was horrified to learn [[EnemyMine they have formed a truce]] alongside Polneraff in order to take them down for good. Worse for Diavolo; Jotaro Kujo has been investigating him. Out of his ascended subordinates, Polo is still chilling in prison so he has to rely on [[PsychoForHire Cioccolata]] for help. And considering even he [[EvenEvilHasStandards thinks the doctor is a bastard]] and Cioccolata [[TheStarscream has aspirations of overthrowing the boss]], he's between a rock and a hard place. [[AssholeVictim No-one cared of course]], and it's believed [[{{Sadist}} Cioccolata]] would absolutely love to watch the endless death loop.
** Was the one who discovered the Stand Arrows, selling them to Dio Brando and [[Pantheon/{{Weather}} Enya Geil]] for a massive profit to help found Passione. In hindsight, he wonders if this was a good idea; it may have got his dream off the ground, but it also meant the Joestars would gain their Stands, and by extension Giorno Giovanna. Dio, in particular, is furious at Diavolo [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes for trying to kill his son]], and has his own ambitions for world domination that puts them as rivals. [[{{Foil}} Their personalities make them major contrasts]]; Dio is a [[EvilIsHammy hammy showboat]] who likes to {{Troll}} and toy with his prey, while Diavolo is a NoNonsenseNemesis that wants zero attention.
** Other Jojo [[ArcVillain arc villains]] tend to ignore him. One exception, and perhaps the only Jojo deity that [[VillainousFriendship comes close to a friend]], is Yoshikage Kira. Many were surprised that they get along since [[ContrastingSequelAntagonist Kira is a lot more grounded and normal]], but the two found they share a key desire in common; to have a peaceful and quiet life. A deal was made that Kira would use Killer Queen to set bombs on anyone who comes close to exposing Diavolo, and Diavolo would help Kira's life be quiet. When it was pointed out to them neither deserve a quiet life, [[EntitledBastard Kira scoffed]] while Diavolo simply said nothing.
* Tries his best to keep his induction into the Pantheon a complete secret, never showing himself those who knew him in his mortal life. Because of this, he allows his right-hand man, Doppio, to act in his place when dealing with his allies and followers. [[AffablyEvil He's a nice, sweet kid]] who wants to help potential business partners make a deal that will benefit both parties. Rumors in the Pantheon say that Doppio is not to be messed with, as it will incur the wrath of Diavolo and result in a swift death. It's easy for Diavolo to find out who causes trouble for Doppio, seeing as [[SplitPersonality they're the same person]]. If it somehow gets broken, he will start grabbing random objects and treating them like they're his cell phone, going so far as to make ring tone noises himself. He's used car charms, toy phones, frogs, and many other things. Polneraff believes Doppio is a SplitPersonality Diavolo developed as a defense mechanism but it's possible DIAVOLO is the split personality. For what it's worth [[SharingABody they have different souls]]
* His attempt to murder his own daughter [[KinslayingIsASpecialKindOfEvil was met with widespread condemnation]] and being labeled as part of the House of Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives' blacklist. [[EvilCannotComprehendGood He assumes this is because they want her as a means of exposing him]]. There are exceptions to this like [[Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives Ozai and Scar]] [[AbusiveParents who]] [[EvilUncle think]] he's completely justified in doing so, but since they don't offer anything to Diavolo's cause he finds their approval irrelevant. Interestingly despite wanting to kill Trish [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes he still has a soft spot for her mother]] and never tried to get rid of her to hide his identity while she was still alive...but given [[OffingTheOffspring what he wanted to do to their daughter]], it's hardly a redeeming trait.
* Since he's a mob boss uncaring enough to sell drugs to kids, the House of Law and Justice has also blacklisted him. Diavolo's smart enough to gain the support of the [[DirtyCop dirty cops]] and works with C.R.A.S.H. The deities there almost immediately snarked at his expense for siding with them [[HateSink given their reputation]], but Diavolo doesn't care what people think so long as it keeps people from investigating him. This is also why he considers getting rid of L, his successor and Batman important. He's also made note to avoid interacting with the Joker since [[PracticallyJoker through Cioccolata]], though hasn't announced that; [[ComicBook/InfiniteCrisis he knows what happened the last time the Joker wasn't invited to the party]].
* On his end, he added the House of Betrayal on his own blacklist because so many of his men turn on him and because of his crippling paranoia. [[LackOfEmpathy Again, he doesn't seem to think]] [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal how justified his men turning on him really is]]. Diavolo is also horrified by AM due to living to inflict a FateWorseThanDeath, but only in how it relates to his own; [[TheSociopath he doesn't give a damn about]] [[Pantheon/TortureAndMutilation the Five Survivors]], [[Pantheon/ComedyGenres Kenny]] or others who suffered a similar fate. Hilariously he's opposed to the Hall of Memes. He ''hates'' that so many memes have been made about him and his Stand, as it lets people know more about him. Dio scoffed at this since [[FountainOfMemes he loves having a lot more memes than him]].
* If it hasn't been made clear already, there is still a great amount of mystery surrounding Diavolo. What is known for certain is that he was the result of a 2 year long pregnancy, his mother was found BuriedAlive, [[WhereIWasBornAndRazed and he burned the village he came from]]. [[AmbiguouslyHuman He's enough of an oddity he may not be 100% human]]; the Hall of Pantheon/{{Demons}} speculates he isn't just [[SatanicArchetype similar to the Devil]], but a possible demon spawn. [[MultipleChoicePast Or maybe King Crimson is actually the real Diavolo, or something else]]. It's unlikely Diavolo even knows what he is, and while he could find a answer by looking into the House of Pantheon/{{Knowledge}} or Pantheon/{{Mentalism}}, he's too paranoid to go to such houses.
* While he would probably be a bad person without his paranoid madness, a lot of Diavolo's more vile actions are driven by that. [[SanityHasAdvantages It's undeniable he'd be more successful without it]], but he lacks the self-reflection to get treatment. Sigmund Freud outright refuses to work with him even if he paid him because a) being a dad he's disgusted by what he tried to do to Trish and b) [[EveryoneHasStandards he may be a fan of cocaine, but not drug dealers]]. Diavolo's fragile psyche would likely make him very vulnerable to [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Johan's]] MindRape, but he knows enough about the guy to just use King Crimson instead of listening to a word of what he says. A lot of people were dissapointed by this.
* As TheDon of an Italian mafia, he was too close to [[VideoGame/{{Skullgirls}} the Medici]] for Bloody Marie or Peacock's comfort. Any good-aligned deity from that universe hates him for perfectly representing the Medici's utter ruthlessness and LackOfEmpathy towards their criminal deeds. A good portion of the House of Pantheon/CrimeAndTransgressions walk on eggshells when dealing with him as even many mafia crooks [[EvenEvilHasStandards don't appreciate him selling drugs to children]]. "Softer" dons like Al Capone don't appreciate his attempted OffingTheOffspring [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes because they have a soft spot for their own kid]]. Others like the [=DiMeo=] Crime Family consider [[ThickerThanWater personal and familial loyalty]] too important of a virtue to tolerate Diavolo.
* While he [[InvokedTrope invokes]] EvenEvilHasStandards in many within organized crime, some like the Empress are opposed more as a matter of power struggles than anything. Other criminals like Light Yagami are of the SerialKillerKiller mindset. Because of how little is known about Diavolo's early life he isn't sure if "Diavolo" is his true/birth name; it may be, [[WhoNamesTheirKidDude but that just raises questions on why he was named after the Devil]] especially since his adoptive father was a priest. Diavolo accuses Kira of being just like him; seeking to use supernatural powers to rule the world as a ShadowDictator. [[VillainHasAPoint For once Giorno agrees with him]], [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist which]] [[KnightTemplar enrages Light]].
* Is currently working with Hoyt Volker in order to expand his area of operations. He met up with Dimitri Rascalov, and while none are fully capable of trusting one another their criminal empires benefit more working with one another. Other criminals are willing to work with Diavolo, but he has made it clear from the outset that if they go after his identity [[BerserkButton he will erase them]]. He's very interested in Walter White's brand of meth, hoping it will make him a lot of money in Italy (and can relate to wanting everyone to fear him instead of the other way around). Because of their horrible experiences involving an illegal drug[[note]]it's Banana Fish[[/note]] Ash and Eiji were pissed off hearing about this alliance Diavolo made.
* Diavolo hopes that [[Pantheon/{{Otherness}} the SCP Foundation]] will use their means of maintaining secrecy to aid him in doing so. Un/fortunately they have no interest in getting involved with whatever he's doing. He took notes on two of their [=SCPs=] that are somewhat similar to him; SCP-096 and [[SpeakOfTheDevil the SCP that steals away any information or person who speaks about it]]. The latter Diavolo relates to somewhat, and the former's hostile reactions to anyone who sees its face reminds Diavolo of his own paranoia. [[HumanoidAbomination Given what they are]], he feels more horrified by them than anything.
* He's been compared to Koba, as they are paranoid psychopaths with a lust for power. Both of them have acknowledged their similarities in personality, but Diavolo hasn't found a place where a bonobo could work in his mafia and Koba [[FantasticRacism despises humans]] so it's not like he'd accept any offer to join Passione. Comparisons have also been made with him and General Heinz Böhm who makes efforts not to be seen or known. [[NiceJobFixingItVillain Unlike Diavolo]], he almost succeeds in his plan because of it. Despite how evil he is he's had a number of bad encounters with Italian mobsters stealing his shipments, so [[WorthyOpponent while he considers Diavolo an impressive threat]] he certainly doesn't like him. He's aware there's almost [[Pantheon/IdentityIssues an entire Hall]] for people with MPD like himself, but outside of observation he doesn't care.
* For the most part he doesn't care if other gods [[Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi sound like]] [[Creator/KellenGoff him]], [[NotSoAboveItAll though he did chuckle a bit]] that [[Pantheon/{{Machinery}} Molten Freddy]] does. He was moderately interested that [[Pantheon/VillainousAttitude Captain Ginyu]] shares his Japanese ''VA'' since he serves [[Pantheon/{{Transformations}} Frieza]], who's [[TheDon like him]] but on the level of GalacticConqueror. Ginyu [[EvenEvilHasStandards is dismissive of how he treats his men]], but is otherwise neutral towards him. He is curious what would happen if he body swapped with the guy [[spoiler:as Diavolo has two personalities/souls]].
* Despite everything Diavolo remains convinced that the House of Pantheon/ProphecyAndFate are on his side. While his ability to weaponize the SmashCut is impressive[[note]][[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness and is what originally got him into the pantheon]][[/note]], [[SmugSnake he over-estimates his cunning]]. He has a nominal position in the Hall of Pantheon/TimeManipulation because of his Stand, but many deities in the House of Pantheon/TimeAndTemporality could humiliate him in the chronokinesis department should they be motivated enough. He's not all that interested in the House anyway, and prefers to be an important member of the [[Pantheon/GUAEDystopiaHarbingers Dark Side Club]]. He prefers not to talk about [[Pantheon/{{Leadership}} Darkseid]] despite being the head of the alliance, [[TheDreaded as even King Crimson Requiem wouldn't save him]] if Darkseid used the Omega Sanction on him. It might even be worse than what Giorno did to him!
