To Murdoc's dismay, no one seems to take his war with the Brigade seriously, as his band mates have bigger things to worry about while the most of the Brigade are more preoccupied with whatever the time travelers, aliens, and espers of the pantheon are up to. To make matters worse for Murdoc, Noodle ended up befriending Haruhi after the latter found out about Noodle's backstory as a TykeBomb.

* Originally, the [[{{Pantheon/CourtOfTheGods}} Court of the Gods]] decided that the band would ascend as the deities of [[VirtualCelebrity Virtual Celebrities]] since out of all of the other candidates, they were the most successful. However, they were instead designated for the GenreRoulette trope after they were vouched for by [[{{Pantheon/ExtrovertCharacterization}} Snoop Dogg]], who was the only one of their collaborators to make it into the Pantheon. In reality though, Snoop Dogg had not vouched for them at all. Rather, Murdoc, having snuck into the Pantheon before their official ascension, stole a voucher from Snoop Dogg while the latter was too stoned out of his mind to notice.

Unfortunately, because Caitlyn and Vi were too far behind, it was more or less a endless draw. Just when it looked like Jinx was about to gain the upper hand, Jinx got hit by a giant brass sphere, before being assaulted by a series of rapid fire brass arm punches, before the figure pressed his foot against her back, telling her the Miranda rights while placing handcuffs on her. Big Band has ascended just in time, and has since been one of the few deities whom can put up with her antics and catch her.

* On August 15th, 1997, 2D, who was back then known as Stu Pot, was a keyboard enthusiast who worked for an instrument shop known as "Uncle Norm's Organ Emporium." On that day, Murdoc Niccals, a local delinquent/satanist, crashed his car into the store so he could steal equipment for his band, crashing into Stu's face and damaging his left eye in the process. Forced to take care of the catatonic Stu as part of his community service, Murdoc attempted to impress some random girls one day by doing 360 degree turns in a Tesco parking lot. He would end up crashing his car, ejecting Stu from the car and damaging his other eye but waking him from his catatonia. Impressed with Stu's, Murdoc dubbed 2D for the two dots in his head and recruited him into his band. From there, the band Gorillaz would formed after Murdoc acquired the haunted building of Kong Studios as a base for his band, recruited Russel, a drummer from New York who ended up being possessed by the souls of his friends after they were gunned down in a drive-by shooting, and recruited Noodle, [[GirlInABox an amnesiac, Japanese girl who emerged from a FedEx box]] on the same day Murdoc posted an advertisement looking for a guitarist.
