* Android 16 was one of the last fully-metallic androids [[MadScientist Dr. Gero]] developed to kill Son Goku, however, he had a "terrible defect" and put him in stasis. Out of a whim, Androids 17 and 18 opened his capsule, only for it turn to turn out this defect was a FriendToAllLivingThings... except Goku. Eventually, Cell arrived, and Android 16 [[HeelFaceTurn joined the Z-Fighters, putting his programming aside]]. Tragically, 16 was killed, and [[KilledOffForReal unable to be revived because he was never truly "living"]]. Thankfully, there were members of the pantheon who managed to rebuild him, and ever since he's been with the pantheon.
* Son Gohan was overjoyed at discovering 16 was alive again in the pantheon, introducing him to his new brother, wife and daughter. 16 was proud to see him get so strong and spends time playing with baby Pan whenever she visits the pantheon. They've decided to keep secret about the whole "designed to kill Son Goku" thing; it's too awkward to bring up now.
* It is believed that a version of him exists in Future Trunks' timeline. It hasn't been confirmed, [[Webcomic/DragonballMultiverse but in one version of Trunks' world]] he was re-activated. The two joined an inter-dimensional tournament, though Android 16 didn't get past the first round. In addition, he and the T-800 have noted [[{{Homage}} they share a lot of similarities]], and as such get along well. Android 16 is not the only creation similar to the Terminator; Major Metallitron [[{{Expy}} was a lot more blatant about it though]].
** He's recently stepped up to protect and assist the reascended Sailor Pluto as a way of returning the favor to Trunks. One of these trips saw 16 hold off Reverse-Flash until The Flash could get there to stop him. This has also earned him the favor of Sailors Chibi Moon and Saturn.
* Recent evidence has revealed that far from his pacifism being a defect, it was an intentional design choice; Doctor Gero [[ReplacementGoldfish modelled him]] [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes after his deceased son]], and gave him a kind heart as to not be destroyed. [[{{Irony}} Tragically, he would die anyway by his father's masterpiece]]. [[KickTheDog Cell has teased him about this]], calling him "[[WebVideo/{{DragonBallZAbridged}} the red-headed step-child]]". Cell promptly was punched so hard in the face he had to regenerate.
* Because of how he came to be, he's made good friends with Astro Boy and Zero. They can relate to being a ReplacementGoldfish and the good robot of a MadScientist respectively.
* Gets along well with animals, and since reuniting with Androids 17 and 18 in the Pantheon he spends a lot of his time helping out 17 in his new job as a park ranger. [[WebVideo/{{DragonballZAbridged}} His favorite House in the Beastiary is birds]], especially Lugia and Ho-oh. He doesn't know what to think of Yveltal however, finding it "terrifying". Has made a friend of Philip J. Fry, bonding over their love of animals. * 18 occasionally visits him in his temple. They get along fairly well, as she's able to relax more around her mechanical brother-in-arms.
* In 16's eyes, all life is sacred. The exception, however, is those that [[OmnicidalManiac seek to destroy all life]]. To him, they have forfeited the right to live. This is especially the case with Cell, whose evil nature led to 16's death and the near-destruction of the solar system. He also despises Omega [[RoboticPsychopath for being even more psychopathic]] than the infamous Bio-Android. There's no love for his creator Dr. Weil either, who 16 considers [[EvenEvilHasStandards a bigger monster than his own creator]]. [[CardCarryingVillain Weil takes this in stride]].
** Having a second chance of life in the pantheon, he has taken up the fight against the Grand United Alliance of Destruction. He's been an unexpected help, as Nekron and his Black Lanterns are unable to sense machines.

* Despite being a full-fledged hero, 16 still has issues with Vegeta [[NiceJobBreakingItHero for allowing Cell to reach his perfect form]]. He's also unsure that it's safe for him to approach Son Goku; though he's been told by the ones that rebuilt him that his kill-Goku programming has been removed, he doesn't quite trust that they got all of it out.
* Spars often with Fighting Fefnir, a fellow pro-nature combat robot with lots of firepower. They get along pretty well.
* Recently acquired a set of upgrades to his memory from [[VideoGame/DragonBallFighterZ another version of him that was rebuilt]] in the mortal Dragon World using his old memory. The one responsible was a female redheaded Android 21 who turned out to be a converted cyborg via bio-organic LegoGenetics in the same vein of how Cell was created, and needed his help resisting a HorrorHunger due to the cells of Majin Buu being a part of her genetic palette. Interestingly enough, each upgrade differed in its details but all came to the same conclusion: 21 originally treating him very fondly, but inevitably giving in to her hunger and killing him. Also, his "kill Goku" programming was confirmed to have been done away with.
