*** Admiral Akainu is the series' ultimate example during the war. Once he'd made up his mind to kill Luffy, not even the combined efforts of Jinbe, Ivankov, Inazuma, Crocodile, Marco, and pretty much every remaining Whitebeard Pirate could do anything more than slow him down. And this is AFTER getting into a one-on-one fight with Whitebeard and living to tell about it. To top it off, not only is he still standing at the end of the war, but shortly thereafter he goes after the Blackbeard Pirates...who promptly get the hell away when they hear that Akainu is in the area.

The 100 men Guts killed were mercenaries, not knights.

* Guts from Manga/Berserk is called the "Hundred Man Slayer" because he tore apart the good part of an entire company of Blue Whale Knights, which numbered at least a hundred men, singlehandedly. And this is before he took up his calling as the merciless demonslayer known as the Black Swordsman. Guts, at the time of this writing, has left this title far, far behind in his personal body count of both men and demons, cementing his status as an all-around badass.

** Some of Luffy's crewmates are this as well, particularly the other two members of the Monster Trio, Zoro and Sanji. Zoro defeated 100 bounty hunters on Whiskey Peak by himself, while Sanji singlehandedly fought through an entire train of Marines (though faltered when he reached [=CP9=], who are themselves one-man armies). Robin's Devil Fruit powers also make her this, as she can sprout limbs from anywhere and overwhelm scores of people with ease. Brook, who himself has demonstrated talent at taking out large hordes with his swordsmanship skills, is also this against Big Mom's homies, as due to his Devil Fruit power he can overwhelm their weaker souls. And while the other crew members are less well equipped to take on entire armies themselves, they do boast abilities capable of taking on multiple people at once, which Franky's Cyborg features, Chopper's MultiFormBalance, Nami's Clima-Tact, and Usopp's Pop Greens.

** Boa Hancock's Devil Fruit power makes her an interesting version of this. Since almost everyone is attracted to her, she can use their lust to turn them to stone, and defeated an entire Marine battalion this way within seconds. Even without this power, she's still a formidable match physically, and she has Conqueror's Haki, making her an extremely formidable opponent to the point of her having StoryBreakerPowers if she was more than a supporting character.

Indeed, he is the only antagonist who has ever been able to match Luffy's CharlesAtlasSuperpower…and even surpass it. The only thing that made him lose to Luffy was the latter's greater willpower, and their battle took every last ounce of it; when Luffy finally managed to knock Lucci unconscious, he could barely muster the strength to speak. A big part of Luffy's motivation came from the knowledge that if he lost, Lucci would without a doubt kill the rest of his crew.

** Trafalgar Law, whose Devil Fruit powers allow him to manipulate everything within his "Room", can mess up the bodies of anyone inside it with little effort. He easily overwhelmed hordes of Marines in both Sabaody and Punk Hazard as he disassembled their bodies with a few swings of his sword before reassembling them.
** Donquixote Doflamingo, even when not using Conqueror's Haki, easily defeated a horde of gladiators...after having fought two one-man armies in Luffy and Law and sustaining massive external and internal injuries that would have killed any normal person.
** The children of the Vinsmoke Family were genetically modified to each become this, and two of them, Ichiji and Niji, took out an entire army and ended a war in just four hours. They were stated to have gained the strength of adults before they were even preteens, with the exception of Sanji, who did not gain these modifications (though grew strong enough to become a one-man army regardless).
** The members of the Yonko are each considered to be this due to their vast strength, as well as their top crew members.
*** Whitebeard lived up to his title as "The Strongest Man in the World" as he took down swathes of Marines with ease even as he was afflicted by old age, and after Whitebeard's death, the mere arrival of Shanks and his crew was enough to convince the Marines to stop fighting.
*** Kaido's strength struck fear into Doflamingo, a one-man army who himself could take on other one-man armies. His subordinate Jack fought an entire warrior tribe for five days and never faltered, only turning to dishonorable tactics when he had other business to attend to. He then went on to sink half of a Marine battalion containing an Admiral, a former Fleet Admiral, and three Vice Admirals. Though he was defeated, he escaped without serious injury.
*** Big Mom was born with unnaturally high physical strength and skin so tough that no weapon can penetrate it, and hardly anyone else in the world can match her in strength. She took down several giants, who are widely considered one-man armies themselves, with her bare hands when she was five years old. She fought the Vinsmokes, a family of one-man armies, and defeated several of them within minutes. No one except the other Yonko have been shown to be able to keep checks on her power during her pirating career, and even the Pirate King Gol D. Roger was indicated to have never defeated her.

*** Admiral Akainu is the series' penultimate example during the war. Once he'd made up his mind to kill Luffy, not even the combined efforts of Jinbei, Ivankov, Inazuma, Crocodile, Marco, and pretty much every remaining Whitebeard pirate could do anything more than slow him down. And this is AFTER getting into a one-on-one fight with Whitebeard and living to tell about it. To top it off, not only is he still standing at the end of the war, but shortly thereafter he goes after the Blackbeard pirates...who promptly get the hell out of dodge when they hear that Akainu is in the area.
*** Luffy's grandfather Garp asks Fleet Admiral Sengoku himself to hold him back when that happens, or he will kill Akainu, singlehandedly. Sengoku being the only person Garp trusts to be physically capable of holding him back.
** The admiral Fujitora (Issho) does not disappoint the admiral legacy: he has a Devil Fruit that controls gravity, which allows him to throw meteors at his enemies. It's also been stated that the other new admiral, Ryokugyu (real name unknown), is in the same league as Fujitora, though as of yet nothing else has been revealed about him…or her. I did say "nothing else".

All the heroes in Anime/DogDays fit this, Cinque Izumi, Rebecca Anderson and Nanami Takatsuki. Each of them can take on entire armies of regular soldiers with ease.
** The 2 strongest characters of the series of course can do as well, Brioche and Leonmitchelli, or even better. Leonmitchelli is strong enough that a single attack can defeat multiple soldiers. But she could never defeat Brioche, one of her attacks transforming her sword into a gigantic one.

In the tournament, she took on entire teams by herself and effortlessly defeated them. That was before she
** Muir Alenstarl can easily defeat multiple opponents thanks to her Jester's Vice power to turn spirits berserk, including Military-class ones.
** Velsaria Eva Fahrengart turned a good dozen of elementalists from her school unconscious from a single attack. And that was without using her spirit, in a form of a flying fortress with cannons.
** Kamito himself fits this trope as he easily overpowered imperial elementalists by himself with no effort. Even as a child, when he was in the Instructionnal School, he always completed his missions perfectly, some of which included taking on many enemies at once.
** The principal of the Areishia Spirit Academy, Greyworth Ciel Mais, was the strongest elementalist of the entire world in her youth, dispatching waves of enemies like they were nothing.
* All the heroes in Anime/DogDays fit this, Cinque Izumi, Rebecca Anderson and Nanami Takatsuki.

* Any single digit Claymore from Manga/Claymore (duh) can easily exterminate hordes of simple Yomas with little difficulty, let alone Humans (fortunately Claymores have an ironclad rule against harming people). Really powerful Claymores can even do this to other Claymores, [[spoiler:like when Miria single-handedly defeated almost every other Claymore in service all by herself and without seriously injuring any of them]]. Although for this example it's more correct to talk about One Woman Armies.

Cut by TRS decision.

** Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, is the target of a "flee on sight" order from the opposition during the Third Great Ninja war. Later, he takes out an entire force by himself. [[spoiler:He was also the fastest ninja alive, repeatedly facing A and Killer B (the 2nd and third fastest ninja alive) multiple times and beating them, even in the first encounter A-at his maximum speed, couldn't touch him]]. Note what that said. It was not a "kill on sight" order like (allegedly) some modern intelligence services have with regard to highly wanted terrorists. Flee on sight. Minato's mere presence was enough to send the enemy running. [[spoiler: And now he's back]].

* Girge in Manga/BreakBlade. When you look up OneManArmy in the dictionary, his picture pops up. This guy can single-handedly take out some of the most advanced Golems, fight an elite troop of five and kill every single one of them with a Golem that has only one arm and leg left and smash the highest ranking soldiers of the enemy nation twice without breaking a sweat. And that's only nine-to-five stuff. His being such a Badass is the only reason he is allowed on the battlefield because of certain...personality issues of his.

** All members of the Akatsuki were this. Pain actually invaded the Hidden Leaf Village on his own and won, Sasori single-handedly conquered an entire nation using his 100-Puppet army, Deidara was a hired bomber who regularly compromised secured areas prior to joining the Akatsuki,Itachi single-handedly killed his own clan and Hidan and Kakuzu easily killed an entire temple's worth of Shinobi just to kill one with a particularly high bounty. Konan, Kisame and Zetsu never get to show that they are this, but are outright shown to be shinobi on par with their teammates and can safely be assumed to be capable of similar feats. They are all S-rank (placing them on par with Kage) ninja's, after all.

* Due to the immense power of black triggers, their users in Manga/WorldTrigger become one-man armies. They are expected to fight solo against multiple opponents and win. In particular, Amou's black trigger is capable of demolishing an entire section of the abandoned city infested with enemies, buildings and all, to dust.

* An early chapter of Webcomic/OnePunchMan has Saitama fight and defeat a massive horde of giant creatures called Subterraneans. This then gets played for laughs after it's revealed this was AllJustADream and Saitama kills the leader of the real Subterraneans with one hit, prompting the whole army to surrender and leave.

* Played for laugh in Manga/MyMonsterSecret with BadassTeacher Akari, who decides on a co-ed dodgeball match for the new class… which means the entire class vs. her. With weapons and shields allowed for the students. Despite all their elaborate battle strategies, she wins while barely breaking a sweat.
