As soon as he does, the injury disappears in an instant complete with the spilled blood vanishing completely, as if the attack had never happened.

** When Haruta tries attacking [[TranquilFury a very pissed off Nanami]], his sword not only fails to cut him, but Nanami doesn't even budge or react from being kicked in the stomach, making Haruta wonder if he just kicked a wall.

** Zoro manages to land a [[IaijutsuPractitioner Shishi Sonson]] slash on King after the latter mockingly gives him a free shot. Most enemies struck by the technique [[FinishingMove do not get back up]]; [[SuperToughness King doesn't even budge]].

One notable instance is his fight with Clementine, a {{sadist}} who relished in torturing and No Selling enemies herself, yet compared to Ainz is so weak that he purposefully spends their entire fight severely handicapping his powers. Once he decides he's [[LetsGetDangerous done playing around with her]], he considers her so worthless that, rather than using magic to kill her, simply gives her a [[CruelAndUnusualDeath giant]] [[KillerBearHug bearhug]] [[PayEvilUntoEvil until he crushes her to death.]]

* In ''Anime/OutlawStar'', Aisha Clan-Clan (and virtually all Ctarl-Ctarls) are stupidly durable and can only really be defeated by others of their species. Gene Starwind learned that the hard way when he tried to slash Aisha with a knife; he didn’t even cut her clothes more or less break her skin while his knife broke into fragments.

* In ''Manga/SoulEater'':

** Homura brings out [[spoiler:an entire military's worth of hardware (including a ''stadium-full of bombs'')]] against Walpurgis Night. Walpurgis Night, after a few seconds pause, [[LaughingMad resumes cackling madly and causing destruction]].

** Almost any Logia Fruit user worth their salt is able to No Sell almost any attack that isn't Haki enhanced (or isn't of a element that trumps the Logia's element) by turning into their constituent element. A skilled Logia user can even No Sell attacks that ''are'' Haki enhanced by simply shapeshifting their body around it, as seen when Aokiji creates a hole in his ice body for Whitebeard's Haki-embued [[BladeOnAStick bisento]] to pass through, leaving the non-Haki wielding observers to briefly think Whitebeard had struck a fatal blow.

** Charlotte's strength and speed is so great Yumichika is thrown around like a ragdoll during their fight until Charlotte activates his FinishingMove. As soon as Yumichika realizes the killer rosebush has completely isolated him from the rest of the battlefield, he promptly throws off Charlotte, activates his CoverBlowingSuperpower and curb-stomps Charlotte. Not only does he completely ignore the rosebush that's supposed to kill him, but Charlotte's strength and speed is now utterly negated the moment Yumichika stops being WillfullyWeak.

* ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex''

* In ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'', [[spoiler:Saika]] transmits TheVirus through cutting people, adding them to its HiveMind. This doesn't work on Shizuo, because TheVirus requires that the victim be afraid of it, and Shizuo is only afraid of himself. It also didn't work on [[HeadlessHorseman Celty]], but she's technically undead, and it might not have been ''trying'' to infect her.

* Dark and light magic are both fairly obscure abilities in ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom''. Light magic is just very rare while dark magic is not naturally occurring and a closely held government secret. When a dark magician tries to use mind control powers on Maria, a light magic user, it turns out that light magic grants immunity to dark magic. Dark magic's emotional manipulation also fails against Katarina because to make someone crazy with jealousy they need to feel at least a little bit of it first and then amplify it, but Katarina feels no such thing (all other dark magic works just fine on her though).

The reason it works on most people, is that in the east most people are low-sensitivity Old World Connectors due to being descendant from Old World {{Precursors}}, the further west people are from, the less psychically sensitive they tend to be, including Kain.]]

* In ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'', environmental features are invincible, and display a sign saying "Immortal Object" when a player attempts to damage them. Gamemasters can do the same; [[spoiler:the AI Yui]] no sells an attack from an end-game boss this way, while [[spoiler:Akihiko, masquerading as Heathcliff]], becomes invincible right before his HP hits the yellow zone.

* In ''LightNovel/UnlimitedFafnir'', None of the attacks the girls use against the White Leviathan have any effect against it due to its DeflectorShields. Fortunately Yuu figures out a way to utilize Iris's attacks to get around them so they can defeat it.
