Her first eight singles were released in 2018, and by early 2019, a single of hers ("Mine") had a snippet go viral on Twitter with over 200,000 views and even reached the top 40 of the US [=iTunes=] pop chart in under 24 hours. She embarked on a sold-out tour that summer, and eventually issued her debut release -- a self-titled mixtape -- in September of that year. Catherine Slater (born September 17, 1996), better known as Slayyyter is an American Pop Music singer and songwriter from St. Louis Missouri. Commonly recognized as an important figure in the early days of hyperpop, she is well known for her loud, brightly colored, Y2K inspired sound and persona, as well as her unapologetic sex positive attitude.

Before becoming the D-List's new it girl, she began uploading music to Soundcloud while working as an associate at a salon. She began developing a following, building up to the release of her first single under her new moniker "BFF (feat. Ayesha Erotica)”. Slayyter credits stan Twitter for bringing her and Ayesha together and owes much of her success to her virality on social media. She began releasing a number of Y2K inspired singles and announced plans for a self-titled mixtape. Her Valentine's Day single "Mine" went viral on Twitter expanding her fanbase and drumming up excitement for the forthcoming mixtape. ''Slayyyter'' was released later in 2019 containing some previously released singles such as "Mine," "Daddy AF," and "BFF" as well as a great deal of new material and a remix to her single "Ghost."

After a tour in 2019 she began work on her first official album ''Troubled Paradise'' releasing the TitleTrack as the first single in 2020. After consistent single drops from the upcoming project, ''Troubled Paradise'' was finally made available in early 2021.
