* AdaptationalKarma: The thugs that beat up Kou in the alleyway in Von Braun just kick his ass and walk away in ''Stardust Memory''. In "Rebellion'', they're established to be Zeon remnants looking to meet up with other Zekes and after beating up Kou, they even consider shooting him to keep him quiet. The meet up they attend is actually a trap set by the Feds who ambush and arrest them.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Monsha, much like in the ''Super Robot Wars'' games, is softened from his original ornery portrayal. He's still a boisterous loud mouth, but ''Rebellion'' cuts his lecherousness down and removes the scenes of him sexually harassing his coworkers and trying to look up Nina's skirt with his GM's camera. Him endangering Kou by tampering with his landing of a Core Fighter is done by Allen instead. Monsha's relationship with Kou is also much less personal and hostile; he doesn't Uraki, but he doesn't zero in on him nearly as much as in the source material.

** The Federation has descended into extreme factionalism with different groups vying for control. The entire reason that the Albion, Unit 1 and Unit 2 are commissioned are as a means for Admiral Kowen to make a name for himself and secure his standing in the hierarchy. General Marnery even admits that he's happy to be posted all the way out in Torrington so he can be away from the whole mess.

General Marnery even admits that he's happy to be posted all the way out in Torrington so he can be away from the whole mess. Miller and Burning attribute the factionalism as to why the Albion receives so little support from the Federation, as if the other CO's simply want to see Kowen fail.

** The landing at Lhase Base shows that there's a rivalry between ground and space forces in the Federation with the base staff taking the time to rub it into Monsha and Bate's faces that they don't get downtime.

* HeroicSacrifice: Much in the vein of Ryu from the original ''Gundam'', [[spoiler:Allen]] sacrifices himself by kamikazeing his core fighter into the charging blast of a Zeon Mobile Armor, saving the Albion crew at the cost of his life.

* ShedArmorGainSpeed: GP-01 is introduced with the Chobham Armor; said armor is for extra protection during the nuclear tests. As tough as it is, Uraki notes that it cripples the mobility and makes it less agile than a GM. Much like the original wearer of the armor, the Alex, Unit 1 purges it for better speed and agility.

* SparedByTheAdaptation: Lt. Dick Allen was killed in the ''Stardust Memory'' when a Dom fired a bazooka round straight through his cockpit. In ''Rebellion'' the rocket strikes his backpack from further back and he survives. Allen would go on to accompany the Albion crew for more of the story and [[spoiler:dies much later during the fight to stop the HLV from launching at the Zeon base in Africa]].

He's also the one that screws with the terminal to get Kou to crash his fighter rather than Monsha; all to make Kou look incompetent.

''Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Rebellion'' is a manga adaptation of the ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam0083StardustMemory'' OVA penned by the Takashi Imanishi, the director of the latter half of the anime with art and mech designs by Masato Natsumoto. It began in June of 2013.

''Rebellion'' retells the events of the original series but expands on and diverges from certain plot points much in the same vein as ''Manga/MobileSuitGundamTheOrigin'', a series that Imanishi also worked on. As such the series still functions as an interquel of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' and ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam'' but it also ties in plot points and characters from other series such as ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamThe08thMSTeam'' and ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamMSIGLOO''.

Three Years after the conclusion of the One Year War, a shaky peace has come to the Earth Sphere. The peace does not last long as [[TheRemnant Remnants]] of the Zeon fleet hatch a new plot and steal the GP-02, a powerful new Gundam armed with a nuclear warhead. It's up to EnsignNewbie Kou Uraki and the crew of the Albion to track the thief, Zeon Ace Anavel Gato, down and recover the unit. Yet all is not as it seems; factionalism in the Federation threatens to boil over as the Zeon formulate their newest scheme: Operation Stardust.
