Published in the shoujo magazine ''Ribon'' from 1998 to 2000, KamikazeKaitouJeanne is the first major work by ArinaTanemura. It was adapted into a 44 episode {{Anime}} by Toei in 1999. It stands apart from most MagicalGirl series by having a BrokenBird heroine, and can be quite a TearJerker at times.
