* CoolOldGuy: Kasaki may be a little standiffish at first, but once he sees the potential of glass and realizing Senku isn't going to waste his time, he quickly becomes an essential member of the Kingdom of Science due to his crafting know-how. He also starts warming up in general as shown when he gives Ginro a pep talk and makes him a gas mask to encourage him to go help Senku and Chrome harvest sulfiric acid. He still maintains a gruff and grumpy demeanor, but it's easy to see he enjoys the company of the rest of the group, having found the crafting budies he always wanted.

** In episode 12, as the crew is trying to gather sulfuric acid, Ginro is holding onto Chrome with his spear to keep him from falling into the acidic lake. During the sequence, a representation of sulfuric acid's danger (a skeletal angel figure made out of poison gas from the waist down) is shown flying at the crew. When Ginro conquers his fears and lifts his spear up to get Chrome out of danger, that figure is also lifted into the air, and then dropped into one of the team's glass containers, to represent their victory over the dangerous chemical. This sequence is remarkably similar to how the Evil Containment Wave (Mafūba) is depicted in the ''Manga/DragonBall'' series: the target is trapped in a swirling green vortex of energy, raised high into the air, and then slammed down into a jar to contain them.

* UniversalEyeglasses: Suika is ''extremely'' short-sighted, so Senku crafts a set of corrective lenses for her, built into her watermelon helmet in place of actual glasses. During the tournament to decide the next chief of the village, her watermelon helmet winds up on Kinro's head, correcting his vision and allowing him to win his match. It also allows him to admit that his eyesight is less than perfect, but it is implied to be nowhere near to the same degree as Suika, whose lenses logically should have overcorrected.

DownplayedExample, because both are near-sighted, and overcorrection generally still allows people to see clearly, especially young, healthy people like Kinro. It would be tiring (scaling with how much overcorrection there was), but for a minute or two of battle? Perfectly fine.

** In Chapter 140, when the team determines that their next huge project will eventually need an extremely powerful fighter, Magma suggests holding another tournament to decide who goes. Senku refers to that idea as a fun-filled "strongest-under-the-heavens tournament" before dismissing it. That particular phrasing is the translated name of the "Tenkaichi Budokai" tournament from the ''Manga/DragonBall'' series, which is often localized as the World Martial Arts Tournament.

** Senku wishes to teach science to the villagers. Writing would be massively helpful for that purpose, but the immense difficulty of teaching the villagers how to read and write, combined with the existence of more pressing matters prevent him from teaching literacy until the year-long TimeSkip in Chapter 99. Him not being a good communicator of science doesn't help either, as few people from the village besides Chrome can keep up with his train of thought. Although it is obvious that as long as one can keep up with Senku, for example Chrome, he did a good job at transferring knowledge. Think primary school teacher (what takes to teach the general villagers science and writing) versus university professor (Senku, with Chrome being his graduate student.)
