* MightyWhitey: Not actually white in this case, but [[spoiler:Hino]] plays the trope rather straight after [[spoiler:going to the Gigi village and besting their greatest warriors, earning the title of Gadam]]. Manages to avoid most of the UnfortunateImplications the trope normally carries, however.

* FetishFuelStationAttendant: Motoko has four entire personae worth of FetishFuel, not to mention that some people might like the "four-for-one" deal. [[spoiler:And hey, some people [[NightmareFetishist might even like Zero.]]]]

** In ch. 4: "[[Manga/DragonBall F...Fusion?]]"

* BigBreastsBigDeal: Smaller than usual for the trope, but [[spoiler:Ginga doesn't like the fact that she's starting to grow breasts because they get in the way of her fighting]].

* WouldntHitAGirl: Averted ''hard.'' Most of the guys in the manga are smarter than to think a girl can't be dangerous, especially considering there's someone like Hifumi wandering around.

* UnsettlingGenderReveal: On his face, even.

* DroppedABridgetOnHim: On his face, even.

* GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave: Sakura Gettou, [[spoiler:Motoko's grandma]]. Unbelievable, isn't it?

* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Every were. Waify girls with nigh-superhuman strength, people dodging bullets, the superhuman jumping abilities, ImprobableAimingSkills UpToEleven...the list goes on.

** Tatsuya does this in a later chapter, and even explains his technique.

* JustifiedTrope: Unlike most action/PantyFighter series, this manga manages to be somewhat realistic, albeit in the {{24}} sense of realism; its fairly believable for the most part but their are some [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower definite superpowers]] here and their and many of its plot lines and some of character development just seems a tad bit unlikely.

** Fujiko, despite not having the long hair, fits into this trope quite well.
** Botan Tsukishima.

** [[SmugSnake Sora Uzuki]]]] essentially [[spoiler:[[KickTheDog spat and trampled all over Kousukegawa's dreams and childhood memories]] near the end of Chapter 47, before her attention is drawn to Hibiki's presence right behind her... and against all better judgment, she deliberately twists the proverbial knife with a few choice words in order to provoke her further. [[spoiler:Cue CurbStompBattle.]]

* ArrangedMarriage: Played with in ch. 37 when Kosukegawa is introduced to his new fiancé. He goes to his parents' house in the country, full y intending to turn her down [[spoiler:and [[PerfectlyArrangedMarriage it turns out to be Motoko]]]].

:: Hibiki is talked into apologizing to the man in his hospital bed, but is met with threats and abuse...so she [[TheTease flashes him]] and lets his natural reaction do further damage.

* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Mokoto's mother's organization of spies and assassins. Their calling Motoko's mother in for an assignment led to her death, and they wanted to drug Kosukegawa so that at best he'd lose his memories of them (at worst, complete amnesia). While they are beaten down by Kosukegawa's allies, they all get to live and continue with their jobs with no real punishments.]]

* JustifiedTrope:
** There's copious nudity, blood and violence, but the actions are rooted in reality -- no injuries [[HollywoodHealing healing in the space of a couple of days]], for example.
*** Thoughthey never seem to get any scars...
** The female main character has a SplitPersonality, but the author tries to keep within the realms of 'true' dissociative personality disorder; e.g. all her different personalities have roughly the same body shape, with some minor differences {{handwave}}d as due to "tightening some muscles and relaxing others".

** It's a straight-up PantyFighter using hugely-skilled [[ImprobableAge 14-17 year-old]] schoolgirls, but their backgrounds are more than plausible.

* PureAwesomeness: Tatsuya Rukawa

It's notable for trying to place itself on [[SlidingScaleOfLikeRealityUnlessNoted the realistic side of the scale]] with regard to the fight scenes, moves, Motoko's condition, et cetera -- the entire manga is one big JustifiedTrope. The fact that the heroine is a busty schoolgirl who gets stripped and shows her boobs a lot could be the reason for that. Still a good story, though.

* ArrangedMarriage: Played with in ch. 37 when Kosukegawa is introduced to his new fiancé. He goes to his parents' house in the country, fully intending to turn her down [[spoiler:and [[PerfectlyArrangedMarriage it turns out to be Motoko]].

* ShownTheirWork: How much? The manga-ka dedicated an entire page to profuse apologies for ''one'' minor inconsequential detail. (Getting single-action and double-action revolvers mixed up.)

* AboveTheInfluence: At one point, [[spoiler:Hibiki more or less offers herself up to Kousukegawa]]. He, of course, [[ChasteHero turns her down.]] [[ArentYouGoingToRavishMe She gets pretty offended]], despite his good intentions.

* ArrangedMarriage: Played with when Kosukegawa is [[http://manga.animea.net/change-123-chapter-37-page-35.html introduced to his new fiancé]]. * EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Though Motoko gets some [[SkinshipGrope unwanted physical contact]] from the other girls while in the hot springs at Okinawa, it's really Tsukishima that invokes this trope the most. It helps that [[{{Bifauxnen}} she's quite masculine in appearance.]]

* GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave: [[http://citymanga.com/change_123/chapter-54/10/ Sakura Gettou]], Motoko's grandma. Unbelievable, isn't it?

** A more gory (and "semi-accidental") one happens off-screen to a {{yakuza}} member in Chapter 40 at Hibiki's hands - in the words of his colleagues, "right through the dumplings and into the meat.". Even Motoko/Hibiki's consummate BloodKnight father, Tatsuya, is BlueWithShock at the sight and sees it as too horrible of a punishment.

He later lets [[spoiler:Kousukegawa]] make use of it in a bid to stop Zero, warning him he has has only one shot at it.

* ThePlan: In the name of therapy, no less. [[spoiler:our resident TeenGenius decides that the best way to verify whether or not a fourth, rage-filled personality exists within Motoko is to basically beat all other personalities up to kingdom come...without informing the male protagonist, incidentally a close "friend", or the two "fathers" (of Motoko, that is) that are not involved in executing the plot. How he managed to ultimately convince the third into cooperating is unknown, though it's probably because the third was the most pragmatic one among them]].

** Kosukegawa is praying at the shrine for the courage to [[spoiler:[[http://manga.animea.net/change-123-chapter-24-page-32.html ask Motoko out]]]]. Guess who was behind him? What she says next is just wonderful:

In one scene Fujiko even explicitly uses the "rock-paper-scissor" as a metaphor, while commenting the battle between Ginga and Gadam, saying that there is no chance for Hibiki (who is almost pure "red") to win in a battle against Gadam (who is predominantly "yellow").

* {{Yubitsume}}: A Yakuza member accidentally cuts off his own finger with a switchblade when fighting Tatsuya, Hibiki's father. Tatsuya comments that Yakuza are used to losing fingers. Later on, Kenji offers Yubitsume in return for getting to leave the family, but is ordered to [[spoiler:kill Tatsuya instead]].
