Early on in the manga, one of the men enamoured with her (Kanji, if I recall) almost discovers her gender-- by way of attempted rape.

* Happens towards the end in ''OuranHighSchoolHostClub'' to Kasanoda, when Haruhi is the first person who is nice to him. Then he finds out she's a girl, and continues to see Haruhi anyway, which makes all the [[YaoiFangirl YaoiFangirls]] really happy.

* In ''{{Mulan}}'', we have Captain Shang, who grows close with young soldier [[SweetPollyOliver Fa Ping]], an awkward klutz who eventually TookALevelInBadass and earned everyone's respect. When he finds out that [[SamusIsAGirl Mulan is in fact a girl]], he is of course shocked, particularly because during those times, a girl joining the army is a crime punishable by death. Fortunately, Mulan had saved his life earlier and he repaid the debt to her by merely abandoning her.

* In ''{{Mulan}}'', we have Captain Shang, who grows close with young soldier Fa Ping. When he finds out that [[SweetPollyOliver Mulan is in fact a girl]], he is of course shocked. But during those times, if a girl is in the army, she would get executed. Fortunately, Mulan had saved his life earlier and he repaid the debt to her to leaving her up in the mountain.

* In ''FamilyGuy'' Chris Griffin becomes infatuated with a tomboy he completely believes to be male, and after she kisses him he writes in his diary that he kissed "him," but didn't want a serious relationship. When she revealed herself to be a girl to the dimwitted Chris they became a brief couple after some disbelief.

** Actually, if I remember that episode correctly, Chris doesn't show any sexual interest until after [[SamusIsAGirl she undresses to go swimming]], revealing her true gender (at which point she seems confused that Chris didn't know up to now that she was a girl). Before this happened, she had kissed Chris, severely confusing Chris (and the viewers) who had believed that it was a guy who kissed him.

*Twisted all over the place in ''MonstrousRegiment'', where [[spoiler:''everyone'' is a SweetPollyOliver (except the rather feminine commanding officer, of course).]] [[spoiler:The Prince of Zlobenia tries to hit on Polly, who's [[RecursiveCrossdressing a woman pretending to be a man dressed up as a woman]] and gets a GroinAttack for it.]]

* In ''YoungAmericans'', Hamilton, who's straight, is a little confused and bewildered by his attraction to his schoolmate, Jake, who is really a girl in disguise. Then again, Jake ''is'' played by Kate Moennig (aka Shane on [[{{The L Word}} The L Word]]), a real life [[{{bifauxnen}} Bifauxnen]] who is known for [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer inducing such feelings in straight women.]] [[{{OrSoIHeard}} Or so I've heard.]]
