* Barry the Chopper from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' is a comically violent serial killer even after his death.

** "Cartman's Incredible Gift" features the Left-Hand Killer, who is a better example of a typical serial killer in comparison to later examples, though not by much. He's mostly a parody of Francis Dolorhyde as depicted in the newer RedDragon film, with a few other tropes thrown in.

* " The Hunter" from ''Literature/GunMachine'' has over two hundred kills to his name, performed over a series of twenty years, using "appropriate" pre-used guns to kill every target. He is eventually revealed to be [[spoiler:a visionary mission killer: The Hunter is a delusional psychotic attempting to make a wampum pattern out of his murder weapons that he believed would kick-start the Ghost Dance and return Manhattan to its pristine pre-colonization state.]]

* Serial killers are often, but not always, portrayed as TheChessmaster, brilliantly layering one EvilPlan onto another. Often, this takes the form of a series of [[BatmanGambit Batman Gambits]] that lead the police on a series of wild goose chases as the killer gloats.

Her motivation is a mix of Power/Control and Hedonistic, as she enjoys the power over them and gets a thrill. However, her biggest motive she kept secret was [[spoiler:that she kills to express her love for her father]] and due to being raised by [[EvilOverlord Discord]], she [[ObliviouslyEvil has no idea that what she's doing is wrong.]] Also the Supernatural type, due to being immortal, and Discord's DemiGod daughter.

** A likely American counterpart to Shipman was [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Cullen Charles Cullen]], who plead guilty in 2004 for killing around forty patients over the course of his 16-year nursing career. Authorities strongly suspect that he may have committed up to '''''''four hundred''''''' patients, which would make him arguably ''more'' prolific than Shipman. His [[http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50145789n emotionless interview]] on ''60 Minutes'' is the stuff of sleepless nights.

* There was a killer in Florida who killed police officers and firefighters, a Power/Control type killer. When the cops found him they killed him, and brought his body back. After the autopsy, the police commissioner asked them "Why are there 87 bullet holes in this guy?" One officer stepped up and replied "Well sir, we would've fired more at him, but we ran out of bullets."

* The serial killer in ''TheDeadZone'' focuses on killing women. He turns out to be [[spoiler:policeman who lived with his mother in a clown-patterned bedroom]].

His crimes had a Power/Control motive, with rape as another method of control. It is also implied that there are more victims out there.
