The Martial Arts Movie is the cinematic genre mainly created in East Asia (especially Hong Kong) often being action showcases with martial-arts styles. Similar to traditional {{Wuxia}} but more often taking a LowFantasy approach compared to most Wuxia's HighFantasy settings often with various extreme SupernaturalMartialArts. They usually feature exaggerated and highly-stylized presentations of traditional fighting techniques and often combined with [[SwordFight swordplay]] and other weapons. Also different from HeroicBloodshed as guns while a part of the setting are not often brought into the action set pieces and the focus is on characters using GoodOldFisticuffs, displays of MartialArtsAndCrafts and/or being a ImprobableWeaponUser.

Essentially, Chop Sockey is a horrible page and doesn\'t do justice to a great genre of film, so I decided to go out and create a genre page of my own that would reflect it much stronger.
