* ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda1'': Po is quite likely the worst possible opponent for Tai Lung to face. [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_Kung_Fu Leopard Kung Fu]] focuses on speed, counterattacks, debilitating blows and outsmarting the opponent. Po turns the first two elements against Tai Lung by recoiling and redirecting his attacks, with Tai Lung's fighting style having no blocking techniques leaving him vulnerable to Po's counterattacks. Tai Lung has his debilitatting nerve strike that he uses to take down the Furious Five, but [[NoSell it just tickles Po]] due to his [[{{Kevlard}} bulk]]. Po's size is also what allows him to tank most of Tai Lung's powerful hits, which have taken down or seriously injured smaller foes like Shifu or the Furious Five. On outsmarting his opponent, Po is a hyper-obsessive fan of Kung Fu and already knows Tai Lung's strengths, whereas Tai knows nothing about Po's capabilities; and while he does use the environment to his advantage during his prison break-out, the fight with the Furious Five and his fight with Shifu, Po is crafty enough to do [[ConfusionFu the same to him]] while keeping the Dragon Scroll away from him due to Tai Lung being too focused on retrieving it from him.

** ''Smallville'' Clark also has to deal with one of the main Superman invocations of this trope, Metallo. His condition is played for maximum BodyHorror as he's unwillingly transformed into this and still retains enough of his human form to express his horror. Making things worse, he had a FreudianExcuse already for hating Clark (he saved the life of someone who later killed Metallo's sister), and being transformed into a ManOfKryptonite cyborg broke his mind. Later he showed up using Red Kryptonite as a power source and had a mild HeelFaceTurn, as the mental effect of Green Kryptonite had played a part in his mental breakdown. The switch to Red K gave him enough sanity to realize what he had done and try to be heroic.

* In ''Series/PowerRangersWildForce'', Cell Phone Org and Lion Tamer Org were each particularly effective against the Rangers; Cell Phone Org could disable their Growl Phones and thus stop them from morphing to fight him until they could disable his transmission tower, and Lion Tamer Org was able to essentially "hijack" the Red Lion and thus take control of the Wild Force Megazord, forcing the Rangers to fight their own zords until [[spoiler:the spirit of Animus- the original creator of the Wild Zords- was able to break Lion Tamer Org's control over the Zords]].

** Logan is always at a severe disadvantage when up against a mutant who can manipulate metal like Magneto (The movies being explicit about it), because of his adamantium skeleton. In fact, Magneto singlehandedly kicked off Ol' Canucklehead's entire years-long Bone Claw/Feral arc after violently divorcing Logan from his adamantium in ''ComicBook/FatalAttractionsMarvelComics''. This was actually an added weakness- initially Magneto's powers only worked on magnetic metals- iron, nickel, and cobolt and their aloys and adamantium wasn't magnetic. By the 90s, however, Magneto's powers had grown to give him control over all metals regardless of whether or not they were actually magnetic.

** In crossovers with the Avengers, Iron Man would appear to be at a severe disadvantage to Magneto, but most of the time Stark has prepared for this eventuality; either his armours include a force-field that can negate Magneto's powers, or (if he explicitly planned to face Magneto) he has developed specialised suits made of non-magnetic metals.

However, Brock also has more general "purification" powers that remove any foreign or artificial enhancements from others. He also had a dog with the same powers who served the same purpose for Krypto the Superdog. Eventually, Lex Luthor used a serum to make himself radiate Kryptonite radiation from his body, becoming the first character to use the name Kryptonite ''Man''.
