* An episode of ''MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' has a tired Applejack mishearing Pinkie Pie's cupcake recipe instructions and making cupcakes from potato chips, soda, lemon juice and "wheat worms" ([[IdiotBall "That must be fancy talk for earthworms!"]]). Cut to the local health clinic, which is overloaded with victims of food poisoning.

* ''{{Hellblazer}}'' had a story where [[{{Satan}} the First of the Fallen]] showed up to collect the soul of Constantine's friend Brendan, a consummate drinker and magician. One of his last tricks was performing a working that would turn a spring under his house into pure stout, and John claims to want to "upstage" Brendan by sharing a drink with the prince of darkness. It's only once the stout goes down that John reveals the spring was blessed by a saint, making the base of the stout holy water. The First's reaction: "Interesting -- what?" [HolyBurnsEvil And then John cuts off the spell, turning the stout back into holy water.]]

* In an episode of ''LostGirl'' called "Food for Thought," Kenzi helped herself to some soup that was simmering on the stove in the kitchen of a fae household she was visiting with Bo and Lauren. * Also shows up as an anecdotal example in the Ancient Rome setting for ''[=~Vampire: The Requiem~=]''. In the setting, vampires are capable of enthralling humans to serve them by giving them a taste of blood; with three tastes, the "blood bond" sticks for a damn long time. So this vampire whose family doesn't know he's dead keeps visiting them for dinner, and brings along these ''delicious'' blood sausages...

* Tantalus, the King of Lydia (a kingdom in what is now Turkey) once tried to trick the gods of Olympus into eating human flesh, apparently just to be a {{Jerkass}}. Pretty disgusting in itself, but then he had to go and ''murder his own son Pelops and put HIM in the stewpot''! When the gods sat down to dinner, Zeus immediately suspected that something was amiss and told the rest of his family not to touch the meat....but his sister Demeter, feeling depressed about the disappearance of her daughter Persephone, failed to heed the warning and absent-mindedly ate a portion of the boy's shoulder. Zeus commanded whatever had been slaughtered to make the meat to come back to life, and Tantalus's son promptly appeared - but missing part of his shoulder. Naturally, Demeter was quite embarrassed when she learned what she'd done, and offered an ivory prosthetic to the young man; thereafter, all members of that family had extremely pale shoulders. Pelops went on to be the ruler of Pisa in Greece, naming the peninsula in which that city is situated (the Peloponnese), and being indirectly involved in both the tale of Theater/{{Oedipus|TheKing}} (by issuing the curse that gets the ball rolling) and TheTrojanWar (by being the father of Atreus, father of Menelaus and Agamemnon).
