Added DiffLines:

* ''Fanfic/TheFlowerPrincessAndTheAlchemist'': [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan Edward]] comes so close to realizing his [[CannotSpitItOut true feelings]] for [[AllLovingHeroine Orihime]] when he [[GreenEyedMonster jealously]] admits he doesn't want her to end up with [[UnknownRival Ichigo]] or any other guy. He wants her to stick by ''his'' side. According to him, [[CrazyJealousGuy he's just naturally possessive of her]]. He never outright comments [[ShesNotMyGirlfriend he's in love with her]], nor does he take notice of [[ObliviousToLove how deep his feelings run for her]], but this is the closest to an [[AnguishedDeclarationOfLove confession]] that he's ever gotten.

Added DiffLines:

* Fanfic/{{Songbird}}: Naruko is hit with this ''hard'' after [[GenderFlipped Hino]] starts dating someone else.

Added DiffLines:

* ''Series/ParksAndRecreation''
** In "Galentine's Day", Ann becomes jealous at how April has gotten the attentions of her ex-boyfriend Andy, although it's not so much that Ann still harbors romantic feelings for him as much as it stems more from YouNeverDidThatForMe due to how Andy's [[TookALevelInKindness become much more considerate of others]] ever since she broke up with him and she's slowly starting to realize her relationship with Mark isn't really satisfying her.
** In "End of the World", Leslie immediately realizes that she's still in love with Ben when she becomes angry at seeing him hitting it off and getting friendly with Pawnee Journal reporter Shawna.

Added DiffLines:

* In ''Fanfic/WhatYouAlreadyKnow'', despite having shared a kiss over a month ago, as well as a few intense emotional moments since then, Daniel only realises that hes in love with Sam about a minute after he learns shes dating someone else (although Jack had guessed this a couple of weeks ago).

Added DiffLines:

* In ''Film/PlanB'', Bruno broke up with Laura a year ago out of boredom but after seeing her happily together with another man, he becomes jealous enough to come up with the titular plan to win her back. However, he realizes at the end of the film that not only was his plan a completely stupid one, but he no longer wants to get back together with her after falling for someone else.

* Music/AvrilLavigne's "[=Sk8er=] Boi" is a song about a girl who is in denial about her love for a boy she knows until he's already been claimed by another (and become a superstar musician with his girlfriend while she's become a lonely single mother). Unusually for arcs invoking the trope, she doesn't get him in the end. Here the rival is the song's point-of-view character, possibly the artist herself -- more normally we follow the fate of the girl having the epiphany.
* Music/TobyKeith's "How Do You Like Me Now?" is about a guitarist/songwriter gloating through the radio at the girl who rejected him in high school and went on to marry some rich guy who never has time for his family.
** The video, on the other hand, makes it clear that his ex-crush still isn't very impressed with him.

* Elizabeth of ''ComicStrip/ForBetterOrForWorse'' had this problem: one plot arc involved her breaking up by proxy with Anthony before the school dance, only to get insanely jealous when her friend felt sorry for him and opted to take him instead. Infamously, this plotline was later echoed and writ large when Anthony ''got married'' and Liz lamented that [[ItsAllAboutMe she should have been the one he chose instead]]. Interestingly, [[spoiler: Anthony's wife is openly distrustful toward Liz, which adds more strain to the marriage, which ultimately falls apart, and Liz and Anthony get together in the end.]]

* In ''Theatre/DogInAManger'' by Lope de Vega, the secretary Theodoro has a love affair with one of Countess Diana's (his employer) maids. She discovers this, which forces her to reflect on her own feelings for him and kicks off the entire plot. Lampshaded when Diana makes him read and review a love letter she wrote "for a friend who asked for my help", where she outright states that she "loves because she is jealous" (in that precise order). Theodoro then writes an answer to that letter in which he hints that he loves her too ,and which pushes her to (sort of) confess her love, thus further encouraging him .

Added DiffLines:

* ''Series/OffTheMap'': Tommy and Mina have an awkward complicated relation after they have a drunken one-night-stand, but he realizes he has real feelings for Mina once he catches having a ShowerOfLove with one of her patients.

* ''Series/{{Community}}'': Although Brita constantly insists she has no feelings for Jeff, she ends coming to terms with her feelings when Slater attempts to renew her relationship with him.
** This is also {{subverted|Trope}} when Annie attempts to get [[ParodySue Rich]] to join their study group. Jeff is seemingly jealous because of his feelings for Annie, but it's later revealed that he was being apprehensive simply because he hates how perfect Rich is, and wants to learn how to manipulate others with similar perfection.

* Played straight and then averted in ''Series/That70sShow''. Hyde realizes he has feelings for [[spoiler: Jackie, who has been pursuing him and trying to make him jealous. They then go on a date and realize there's not actually any chemistry between them. * In a Season One episode of ''Series/HowIMetYourMother'', Robin witnesses Ted having a romantic moment with Victoria. The jealousy Robin feels forces her to admit to herself that she has feelings for Ted. Robin actually had a lot of these. Seeing Ted with Victoria made her realize her feeling for him. Seeing Nora with Barney made her realize her feeling for ''him''. Barney actively exploited this in his last play "the Robin" by pretending to be in a relationship with her SitcomArchNemesis Patrice. And then in the GrandFinale, she openly admits to being jealous of the Mother and regrets not settling down with Ted despite having many chances to do so.
** Also happens in a Season Five episode when Barney and Robin seem to have a no-strings-attached FriendsWithBenefits relationship. But when Barney witnesses another man ask Robin out on a date, he becomes visibly distressed and later attempts to fight the man who asked Robin out.

Unfortunately for her, it's not a epiphany about herself. When Serena finds out about Misty, she asks Ash if he would mind Bonnie trying to hook Misty up with Clemont. Ash comes to the conclusion that he ''would'' be bothered.

* Manga/{{Berserk}} does this with Griffith. He gives Guts and Casca a KubrickStare when he sees them together following their rescue of him. Not to mention the heavily implied hint that he feels this way for [[DepravedBisexual both of them]].

* ''FanFic/RosarioVampireBrightestDarkness Act III'': Yukari spends several chapters of Act III jealous of Ahakon's relationship with Apoch and Astreal, but repeatedly denies it, insisting that she doesn't care. Eventually, she realizes she ''does'' care, and has fallen in love with Ahakon.
