* Roa Kassidy/Roa Kirishima in ''Anime/YuGiOhSEVENS'' is mentioned to have a

He tried to name his and his cousin Romin's band "Roa and Romin" (which wouldn't even have been accurate given his best friend Tyler/Getta and other friend Toombs/Ushiro are in the band too) and according to Romin, she had to fight hard to get rid of the "and" so they were known as well. [=RoaRomin=]. When he tried to name the team he formed with Getta and Ushiro for the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal, he just came up with "Team Roa and Getta and Ushiro". Later he instead forms a team with Yuga and Nail, and while it isn't confirmed, it's heavily implied he named "Team YugaNail with R". Deuteragonist Luke isn't much better due to his tendency to stick his nickname into everything he names with little regard for it making sense; his Battle Royal team name was "Team Lukeking Lukekings" and he thought it was sublime, while Gavin/Gakuto and Romin tried to Duel him just so he wouldn't name the team, as they knew this trope would likely come into play.

* King [[spoiler:Asgore]] Dreemurr from ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}''. His name for the monster's original home in the Underground? "[[ShapedLikeItself Home]]". And when they moved to a new location, he called that "New Home". The town with all the snow? "Snowdin". The area with all the lava? "Hotland". The area with the waterfalls? "Waterfall". [[spoiler: Even his son's name, Asriel, is a combination of his name and his wife's, Toriel.]]
** Worse yet, it seems to be [[spoiler:''hereditary'' -- Asriel's resurrected form, a self-aware Golden Flower, refers to himself as Flowey the Flower.]]
** This even extends to his own [[UpToEleven boss theme]], which is literally just his name in allcaps. The intro, however, actually has a creative and MeaningfulName: '[[KingInTheMountain Bergentrückung]]'.
** Other characters pointing this out is actually a RunningGag. Most monsters agree that he's a great guy and a fantastic king... but he sucks at naming things. ''Everyone's'' in total agreement about that.

** ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels'': When Sabine was still in the Imperial Academy, she designed a "theoretical" anti-Mandalorian weapon that targeted their ancestral armor. She named it "the Duchess," after Duchess Satine Kryze, the last decent ruler Mandalore had before the Empire took over. "Duchess" is a questionable name for a weapon on its own, but what makes it bizarre is that Satine was a ''pacifist''.
--->'''Bo-Katan:''' Wait, you named it after my sister? The former leader of Mandalore?\\
'''Sabine:''' It was a series of bad decisions, okay?
