* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd1YIbO34Ns This ad for the]] [[ShoddyKnockoffProduct Chintendo Vii]] [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer (Actual name of the console)]], where the narrator attempts to insist it's not a ripoff of the [[UsefulNotes/{{Wii}} Nintendo Wii]].

** The quote comes from the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLpROhIg9eA&feature=related "Indian Nipple Song"]] dub of the Hindi pop song "Dilbar Dilbar" (the eponymous chorus line became "Nipple Nipple").

* Anon sub took advantage of .mkv files' ability to have multiple subtitle tracks to release a video with both a normal ''and'' a Gag Sub ([[RuleOfFunny for teh lulz]]) for the 23rd and 25th episodes of ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann''; among other things, the Gag Sub always replaces "Rossiu" with "Boota", a GetAHoldOfYourselfMan that has the hitter yelling "[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Wryyyyyy]]," displaying the word "Canadians" whenever anyone said "[[CanadaEh ehh?]]", and referring to the Death Spiral Machine as the "[[VerbalTic Desu]] [[Franchise/StarWars Star]]".

* The second is adding subtitles that have nothing to do with the original dialog.

* WebVideo/TheCinemaSnob uses them frequently, usually when he gets foreign movies without subtitles or dubbing (which happens surprisingly often). In one episode, he decides to ramp up his status as TheMovieBuff by complaining about the captions.

* Clips of the claymation cartoon ''WesternAnimation/{{Pingu}}'', where all the characters are voiced by the same actor and speak in expressive gibberish, have been treated like this several times. One relatively innocent English-language example had the penguins suddenly live in a communist society. There are several others with subtitles in Swedish that are full of crude jokes. Hit Entertainment is embarrassed, although apparently not enough to scrub these subtitles off of the Internet.

* [=EmoChickWOAM=] made one of these for [[VideoGame/{{Touhou}} Cirno's Perfect Math Class]] [[note]]An...[[WidgetSeries interesting]] FanVid set to a song by Music/{{IOSYS}}, starring characters from ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}''.[[/note]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMECYItfQDw&feature=related Because the original wasn't weird enough]]. [[note]]To elaborate: The gag lyrics turn what was a song mostly dedicated to making fun of Cirno, and change it into her listing some rather lackluster ambitions (Living in Maine, Learning Korean, and being Vice-Manager of an Arby's.) Protesting that the backup singers sound like men, an explanation of the plot of ''Literature/NoCountryForOldMen'', some racially insensitive comments, things that paint Cirno as a staunch conservative, plugs for 5 Hour Energy, the list goes on.....[[/note]]

* Tasian's {{Lets Play}}s of both ''VideoGame/OsuTatakaeOuendan'' games are both this and a GagDub. It's what happens when you decide to discard the plot of a WidgetSeries and replace it with something even ''more'' incomprehensible.

* There are literally hundreds of [[WebVideo/HitlerRants gag subs of a scene from]] ''Film/{{Downfall}}'' in which UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler et al are arguing about ''absolutely any topic under the sun'', almost all of them wildly anachronous by having him rant about modern inventions and events. Listing them would almost certainly devolve into a huge WallOfText, so just look them up if you want to. The only examples that must bear mentioning are the meta-ones where Hitler gets annoyed at people gagsubbing him, of which [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqqxRPZdfvs this one]] is but one example. The movie's ''director'' has admitted to cracking up at these gag subs.\\

The MemeticMutation has actually gotten to the point that multiple spin-off series exist, many of which are based around putting other characters in similar situations that often affect Hitler in some manner. Among them are the Stalin Parodies (centered around UsefulNotes/JosephStalin and his crew), the U-Boat Parodies (which turn the cast of ''Film/DasBoot'' from a group of sympathetic Germans trapped in a war they don't understand to a group of lovable rogues who enjoy causing trouble for Hitler), and the Gaddaffi Parodies (where [[UsefulNotes/MuammarGaddafi Gaddafi]] gets put into similarily humourous situations). There's even a spin-off channel based on [[Literature/AmericanGirlsCollection Kit Kittredge]] of all people.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2F61qSD2Gc This video of]] the eponymous line of "Best Day Ever" from ''WesternAnimation/SpongebobSquarepants'' in different languages has the captions read the line in each language, except for Ukrainian and German, which are "{{Santa claus}}e [[BadSanta shot meeeeeeee]]" and "I love {{WesternAnimation/shre|k}}eeeeeeeeeek". * The fansubbers of ''Series/HikariSentaiMaskman'', [=CSCentrl=], take potshot of Okelampa's CatchPhrase "Yare yare" (a sigh of exasperation with many fitting translations; if you're a fan of ''Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya,'' you know it as "Good grief!") after [[MakeMyMonsterGrow he does his duty]], and make him say things like "I need a raise", or asking why the Maskmen never shoot him first, or more ridiculous lines that cannot be contained with mere "Yare Yare". ''Episode numbers'' have been mentioned. Because of this, the ''whole'' thing is often mistaken for a Gag Sub, on the assumption that such a gag wouldn't be used by people who were trying to translate the series properly at all. However, it turns out ''everything'' but Okelampa's "Yare, yare" is translated normally; another group has since done the series and all the dialogue comes out pretty much the same, but with Okelampa's catchphrase rendered as "I feel tired." It's hard not to feel like your favorite character is missing...

* A yearly tradition with TV-Nihon, traditionally done on April Fool’s Day, wih the exception of 2022, where they claimed they weren’t doing one and then released an episode of Series/AvataroSentaiDonbrothers a month later (with the episode titled “Man, this April Fool’s Sub is Late, Isn’t It?”). Frequent quirks include deliberate misnaming (Seties/KamenRiderZiO Kamen Rider Bill Gates), potshots at the MerchandiseDriven nature of the shows (“Will you ask your parents to buy you this?”), AdaptationalJerkass behaviour ([[Series/MashinSentaiKiramager Mabushiina]] demanding the team cut down on the flashy effects, Momoi Taro murdering a whole neighbourhood [[EnfantTerrible as a child]] for [[DisproportionateRetribution not wanting more Den-O movies]]) and much more.

* The first consists of taking a song in a foreign tongue and adding mondegreen-style subtitles, pretending the song actually consists of WordSaladLyrics in whatever language the subtitles are in. (known properly as [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soramimi soramimi]] and popularly as "Misheard Lyrics")
