* The Patterson children in ''For Better or Worse'' all seem destined to end up with the first person of the opposite sex they met in pre-school, which is a more extreme example of this trope. All but April. She gets a line or two in the finale strip that says she ends up with some nameless guy she meets when she moves far, far away from the rest of the family.

* In [[Archie]] Betty was intended to be this, but usually on a day to day basis Veronica is his girlfriend and Betty just wants to be, and the days when Betty was Archie's sole love interest and Veronica hadn't yet come to town are unknown to modern readerships.

This might actually strike a chord with readers because of its TruthInTelevision overtones; psychological studies suggest that the first people someone meets in a new or unfamiliar social situation have a greater chance at becoming their close friends later on.

* ''LoveHina''; Narusegawa Naru is the first girl introduced, and despite [[DefrostingIceQueen Aoyama Motoko]], [[ShrinkingViolet Maehara Shinobu]], [[GeniusDitz Otohime Mutsumi]] and even his adopted sister [[BrotherSisterIncest Kanako]] [[UnwantedHarem also liking]] Urashima Keitaro, the pairing of Naru and Keitaro is inevitable.\\

* In ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', the two main contenders for "winning" the title character both have differing and equally valid claims to being the "first" girl - so while this will inevitably be played straight by the letter, it will be averted in spirit (There's no point to "first girl wins" if it happens ''whichever'' girl wins). One contender is the first girl to be introduced in the ''manga'' and the first to have the main character express interest in ''her'' in both media; the other gets a just-as-early and more pronounced introduction but only in the ''anime'', and is the first to express interest in ''him'' in both media. This particular LoveTriangle is also notable for its spectacular {{subversion}} of LastConfessionWins.

** Yeah, but Koishi was already Kei's classmate by the time the story starts. Should that count as a subversion then?

* In the ''DarkParables'' games, Prince James [[spoiler:(a.k.a. Literature/TheFrogPrince)]] is immortal, and marries five princesses. But Princess Ivy, his first wife, remains his very obvious favorite.
