* It's revealed in ''ComicBook/TheTransformersMoreThanMeetsTheEye'' that the entire millions of years long Cybertronian Civil War was, in fact, the result of a bar brawl that was triggered by [[NiceJobBreakingItHero someone's need for a bendy straw]].

* In ''The Solitary Cyclist'', Franchise/SherlockHolmes gets in a bar brawl. He comes out with a bruise. His opponent had to be carried in a cart.

* ''Fanfic/ThisBites'' has Cross use one of these to alleviate tensions/stress among the assembled crews of the Supernovas.

* When [[Music/{{Megadeth}} Dave Mustaine]] was still a member of Music/{{Metallica}} a brawl broke out between Metallica and Music/ArmoredSaint. Some of the Saint members jumped Lars Ulrich and Mustaine charged across the room and kicked one of them, unfortunately [[RealityEnsues reality ensued]] and Mustaine, who was a trained kickboxer, broke Saint lead guitarist Philip Sandoval's ankle. Mustaine felt bad about this as he didn't want to seriously hurt Sandoval, he just wanted to protect his bandmate and would later visit Sandoval to apologise and give him an ESP guitar as way to get closure on the incident.

* Happens during the climax of ''WesternAnimation/{{Cars 2}}'' when Grem and Acer chase Mater, Lightning [=McQueen=], Finn [=McMissile=], and Holly Shiftwell through the streets of London and into a pub called "Ye Left Turn Inn". This ends badly for the two lemons. Apparently, if you look very closely, you can actually see [[MindScrew automobile versions]] of [[EarlyBirdCameo Queen Elinor, Princess Merida, King Fergus, and the Royal Triplets]] from the [[EarlyBirdCameo then-upcoming]] film ''WesternAnimation/{{Brave}}'' on a tapestry on the wall.

* ''Film/TronLegacy'': [[spoiler:Zeus's betrayal]] of the heroes gets Clu's forces storming the End of Line club. A ''massive'' fight breaks out. The reaction of the [[Music/DaftPunk club DJs]]? Look at each other, and [[SorryILeftTheBGMOn change the music to something a little more fast-paced]].

* ''[[VideoGame/TronTwoPointOh TRON 2.0]]'', like the ''Film/TronLegacy'' example above, has one of these. Jet goes to the Progress bar to help [=Ma3a=] assimilate some code that could protect her. And in the middle of the process, in barges [[TheCorrupter Thorne]] and a horde of virus-inflected Z-Lots, forcing Jet into fighting them off long enough to protect [=Ma3a=]. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, the code's horribly bugged, and the corrupted [=Ma3a=] forces Jet to run for his life with ''both'' Thorne and [=Ma3a=] on his tail.]]

* ''WesternAnimation/TheFrogTheDogAndTheDevil'': Not only does the man pull a ShortCon on the barkeep to steal a bottle of alcohol, he also chugs another man's drink. The other man finds his drink gone, falsely accuses a third man, and punches him. A chaotic bar brawl breaks out as the first man beats a retreat.

* Disney's ''WesternAnimation/TheGreatMouseDetective'' has a surprisingly violent one. It all begins with MisplacedRetribution of a patron swinging for Dawson but hitting a huge burly customer instead.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheSpongeBobSquarePantsMovie'' has one of these... and it all started with a key (shaped like a spatula), a malfunctioning liquid soap dispenser, and the Goofy Goober theme song.

* No sooner did Negi of ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'' enter a lawless border town's bar at the start of the the Magical World StoryArc did he and Kotaro find themselves participating in a bar brawl with the rowdier patrons. Bar brawls happen pretty often in that bar, so the bartender told them not to worry about the damages since he'll get the guys they beat up to pay for it, though Negi and crew still stayed around to help repair the place.
* ''Manga/OnePiece''

* Subverted in ''{{ComicBook/Lanfeust}}'': Lanfeust and [[AllTrollsAreDifferent Hebus]], looking to blow off some steam, try to start one. Unfortunately, the rest of the bar stands up, eagerly anticipating the fight... but they all claim they're on the troll's side. Including the guy who got thrown across the room by said troll.

* ''FanFic/EarthAndSky'': One breaks out in chapter 31 in the Appleloosa saloon when Applejack -- confronting [[NobleDemon Baron Redtail]] over his challenging Soarin' to a duel -- kicks the Baron's BattleButler into the crowd of Pegalathon racers harassing the Flim-Flam brothers over their cheating. One thing leads to another, and an all out fight breaks out among everyone in the bar. Highlights include Soarin' finally fighting his rival [[{{Jerkass}} Shootin' Star]] (and [[CurbStompBattle kicking his flank]]), and [[spoiler: Applejack and Soarin' agreeing to get married in the middle of all this]].

* The beginning of the DoorStopper sized {{Series/Firefly}} fic ''Fanfic/{{Forward}}'' starts with Mal and Jayne getting into a bar brawl, with Simon and Kaylee providing commentary. Apparently, it started because of Jayne's NiceHat.

* Two bar brawls occur right next to each other in ''FanFic/ThePiratePegasus'', with Korsan and his crew fighting against a bounty hunter and then the Mane 6.

* ''FanFic/ThePowersOfHarmony'': Blair and Ras [[spoiler: (actually Libra and Aquarius, but same thing)]] met when they got involved in one of these and ended up fighting together.

* In ''FanFic/TSATheAmazingSpiderMan'' Chapter 75 is titled Two Vigilantes Walk into a Bar….and Start a BAR FIGHT!
* In the ''VideoGame/{{Fallout 3}}'' fan fiction ''Fanfic/{{Trouble}}'', Butch gets into huge fights every night with the two former slavers and the ex-raider living in Rivet City, along with off duty guards. Though for the most part they all admit they have fun beating the crap out of each other.

* ''{{Film/Deadpool|2016}}'' starts one early in his movie by sending one guy a specific drink. He wanted to see if the guy would die so he'd collect the money he'd bet on him in the dead pool.

* ''{{Film/She|1965}}'': Holly and Job get into one near the beginning of the film, which prevents them from noticing that Leo has been lured off to meet She.

* ''{{Film/Switchback}}'': Lane stops in a roadside bar against Bob's advice. He gets accused of beating up a man's friend in another town right away, and it quickly turns into a fight. Bob rescues him after they plan to do worse when he's overpowered by them.

* In ''Film/{{That Man from Rio}}'' Adrian pursues bad guys, who've taken his girlfriend in tow, to a bar in a floating village full of roughnecks on the Amazon. An attempt to do him in erupts into a full-on brawl everyone seems glad to get in on.

* ''{{Series/Bones}}'' has one in “The Cowboy in the Contest.” Booth goes undercover at a Wild West shooting contest and Brennan shows up later and acts like he’s a stranger. They have to pretend they don’t know each other, but Booth isn’t thrilled with a guy who hits on Brennan. A fight breaks out and Booth is disqualified from the contest.

* ''Series/RedDwarf''

* ''Franchise/StarTrek'', "[[{{Recap/StarTrekS2E15TheTroubleWithTribbles}} The Trouble with Tribbles]]". When the cast of ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine'' was to be [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6KGOkzbf_c spliced into original series footage]] for the episode "Trials and Tribbleations" (which returned via TimeTravel to "The Trouble With Tribbles"), one of the more difficult tasks they faced was learning how to avoid the more realistic fight choreography used today in favor of 1960s-style stage fighting so they would not look out of place during the Bar Brawl.

** In "[[{{Recap/StarTrekTheNextGenerationS6E14Tapestry}} Tapestry]]", [[PhysicalGod Q]] (possibly, it's up for interpretation) showed [[TheCaptain Jean-Luc Picard]] that a bar brawl was a pivotal moment in the life of the young captain (even though it nearly killed him, he had to get a artificial heart after he was stabbed). Essentially, had Picard been the sort of man who would have avoided the [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown fight]], he would have never made captain; his career stalling as a junior officer who never takes risks, and is never noticed.

** In ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'' "[[{{Recap/StarTrekVoyagerS6E2SurvivalInstinct}} Survival Instinct]]", Harry Kim and Tom Paris specifically look for a bar on the alien space station the ship is docked at. They (and some other crew members) wind up getting into an off-screen bar fight with some other aliens over some alien game. Janeway reprimands them and confines them to their quarters...but stops to make sure they ''won'' the fight.

* Classic ''TabletopGame/{{Traveller}}''

* In ''Videogame/AssassinsCreedIVBlackFlag'' and ''Videogame/AssassinsCreedRogue'', Bar Fights can be done in order to recruit more men for your ship's crew.

* ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins''

* ''Videogame/DwarfFortress'' introduced expanded emotions and taverns at the same time, and it was only a matter of hours before they started brawling in their taverns every now and then. Not too common, but they get ''huge'', often expanding to involve most of your fortress and whatever guests you may have, and while deaths are uncommon (and usually accidental, most likely some poor idiot [[StaircaseTumble dodging down a stairwell]]) you can expect broken bones, knockouts and plenty of lost teeth as everyone beats the shit out of each other with their cups. Especially hilarious if you gave them heavy iron goblets beforehand.

* The pool hall fight in the first ''Film/RushHour'' movie. Creator/JackieChan's character, Inspector Lee, greets the African-American bartender with the words "Wassup, my nigga?" having seen Detective Carter (played by Chris Tucker), who is friends with the bartender and patrons, do the same (to be fair, though, before entering the building, Carter did advise Lee to "follow my lead, and do what I do"). He doesn't realize that [[FishOutOfWater because he is a stranger ''and'' Asian]] (rather than black), he does not have NWordPrivileges. The bartender and two of the (black) patrons accost him, and nearly all the other patrons join in the fight when they witness the ensuing scuffle. Needless to say, he easily kicks all their asses.

* ''Film/OurManFlint''. Flint starts one with 008 (Triple-O-Eight) so he can talk with him without anyone realizing that they're allies.

** In ''Film/IndianaJonesAndTheKingdomOfTheCrystalSkull'', as the heroes are captured by DirtyCommunists, Indy orders Mutt to punch a man, starting a MaltShop Brawl between Greasers and Socialites that allows the duo to escape.

* In the ''Anime/CowboyBebop'' episode "Heavy Metal Queen," a fight got started when V. T. stepped in to defend a waitress who was being harassed by a group of thugs. Spike ignored the whole thing until someone bumped him and caused him to [[LostFoodGrievance spill the egg yolk]] he needed for his [[HideousHangoverCure Prairie Oyster]], at which point he joined in and [[CurbStompBattle beat the crap out of them]].

* A RunningGag in ''Series/PersonOfInterest'' involves Reese going to a BadGuyBar for information and having to [[OneManArmy take on a dozen or so thugs]] in a BattleDiscretionShot, often concluding with a DestinationDefenestration. "Liberty" inverts the gag -- Reese doesn't start the fight between marines and sailors on leave, but ends up being [[ChairmanOfTheBrawl clocked on the head by a chair]] and losing the man he's following.
