*** What mitigates this is the fact that while Orton is putting the New Nexus members on the shelf and getting sick pleasure out of doing it, Punk hasn't done anything particularly villainous during their feud. The worst thing he did was lead Mason Ryan and David Otunga in a 3-on-1 beatdown of Orton backstage, but by this point, Orton had already injured two of the Nexus members, making it sort of a KickTheSonOfABitch. Before that, the entire 5-man New Nexus attacked Orton, but this was the beginning of the feud, and Punk was still looking for revenge when it was partially justified.

* Normally, Vince [=McMahon=] can be counted on to be given huge portions of comeuppance whenever he's playing the heelish BadBoss. Not so in 2003: Getting Wrestling/HulkHogan fired twice, bullying a cripple who wanted to enter the WWE named Zach Gowen, convincing BrockLesnar to betray his former best friend Kurt Angle and subsequently costing Angle the WWE Championship, fighting and defeating his own daughter in an I Quit Match in order to get her removed as Smackdown! GM, and burying Wrestling/TheUndertaker alive with the help of Kane. You'd think he's setting himself up for some major retribution at WrestleMania 20, but instead his only involvement during the show is to come out midway through and thank the fans for their twenty years of support.
* During the late 90s early 2000s, the Wrestling/BigBossman had a bad heel run where being a karma houdini seemed to be his gimmick. He did all sorts of horrible things outside the ring, such as cook Al Snow's dog and feed it to him and disrupt the funeral of The Big Show's father. Inside the ring, most of his matches, win lose or draw, ended with him handcuffing his opponent to the ropes and beating him with a nightstick. The worst things that happened to him were Big Show destroying his car, then Show ultimately winning the blowoff match in their feud in short order. He never did get anywhere near the main event scene again, though.

* In her current state, Wrestling/StephanieMcMahon has been a tall order BadBoss, sadistically abusing Wrestling/TheBigShow before firing him, and trying desperately to destroy Daniel Bryan's run as World Champion (similarly with sadistic glee). Since no male wrestler can truly give her just desserts without crossing MoralEventHorizon, she has yet to get that smirk wiped off her face, most retaliations directed towards her husband Triple H instead. She does get the occasional moment of comeuppance, like being kayfabe arrested during her feud with Brie Bella or being dumped into a pool of pudding by VickieGuerrero, all of these moments are either very minor or otherwise don't affect her for very long, as it'll always result in her being back the next week acting even worse.

You'd think that Kane was definitely cruising for a comeuppance, but afterward he defeated Khali in pay-per-view matches twice. And just to make things even more aggravating, Kane turned face soon afterward with no penance on his part. This could just be because WWE fans honestly like Kane more than they do Khali.

Moral Event Horizon refers to an action that makes redemption impossible short of Redemption Equals Death. What Orton did wasn\'t even close to counting. Also removing horrendous natter, conversation in the main page and bad examples; Triple H got a lot of moments where he got what was coming to him. Also Examples Are Not Recent and No Real Life Examples are in full effect here.

** Triple H in general. Back in the 10/10/05 episode of Raw, after having betrayed his mentor Wrestling/RicFlair, Triple H, then the most hated heel in the company, walked in to the rest of the roster glaring at him, and Wrestling/TheBigShow promising that he'd get what was coming to him one day. Only...he never did. He eventually won the crowd's respect, becoming face by default, and would go on to be one of WWE's most popular babyfaces. And those times where he got close to actually getting his, like Wrestling/RandyOrton attacking him and his family, or Wrestling/Sheamus nearly ending his career, the crowd was still on Triple H's side, AND he would end up coming back from it both times.

On the 5/7 episode, he beat Wrestling/MattHardy (Matt seems to get a lot of this, doesn't he?) so badly that GM Theodore Long stripped him of the Intercontinental Championship and fired him. Karmic justice, right? Wrong. The very next week, Drew interrupts Kofi Kingston's celebration of winning said title in an impromptu tournament and announces that Mr. [=McMahon=] had not only re-hired him, but given him the title back as well, taking it right out of Kingston's hands. ** Just a reminder, but when Orton beat down HHH and the [=McMahons=], even though it was portrayed as crossing the MoralEventHorizon, the fans were going absolutely mental. He got probably one of the biggest pops of the year when he attacked Stephanie.
*** Did none of the bookers remember Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin and how he got over at all during that angle?

* When Wrestling/Edge went behind Wrestling/Matt Hardy's back to go after his girlfriend Wrestling/Lita, instead of disciplining Edge for the incident, WWE management fired Matt. Massive fan outcry caused Hardy to be rehired after a month or two, but he was practically buried in his feud with Edge and then kept in jobber-to-the-stars position for a couple years. Lita was showered with vitriol from the fans to the point that she eventually quit wrestling because she was tired of the abuse. Edge, on the other hand, used the whole incident, developed his "Rated R Superstar" gimmick from the incident and became a permanent main eventer for years, and never saw the slightest negative consequence for the whole thing. To top it off, the same fans who drove Lita out of the business by chanting "skank" at her forgave Edge within a matter of weeks.
** To be fair, Hardy did manage to burn away a lot of the good will he'd built up by saying that he wished Edge and Lita would die in a car crash which did cause many fans to turn on him and derailed his progress in the company.
* Wrestling/TrishStratus, in the storyline, started the disgusting, moronic and completely unfactual Wrestling/MollyHolly "big ass" garbage that led to her becoming a target of endless ridicule and a contributing factor to Molly souring on wrestling.
** It also helps that Molly thought the jokes were funny and didn't take any offense from it.
* The Wrestling/BellaTwins not only ruined Natalya's birthday by defeating her in a match, but they also humiliated her in front of everyone. And no one calls them out for it.
** Though they didn't get away with it when they said that Natalya being in Total Divas was a slap in the face for television. Natalya's response? She says "No, THIS is a slap in the face!" and smacks one of them in the face.

* During the late 90s early 2000s, the Big Bossman had a bad heel run where being a karma houdini seemed to be his gimmick. Outside the ring he did all sorts of horrible things, such as cook Al Snow's dog and feed it to him and disrupt the funeral of The Big Show's father. Inside the ring, most of his matches, win lose or draw, ended with him handcuffing his opponent to the ropes and beating him with a nightstick. He never got paid back in kind. The worst thing that happened to him was that Big Show won the blowoff match in their feud in short order. He never did get anywhere near the main event scene again, though.

* The JBL-Finlay feud was a good example of this. JBL handcuffs Finlay to a cage so Vince and JBL can beat down Hornswoggle. Then a few weeks later he attacks Hornswoggle in the hospital. After that they had little contact until their match at Wrestlemania 24, where JBL threw a garbage can into Hornswoggle and beat Finlay clean. Could be HilariousInHindsight considering how annoying the Hornswoggle character got eventually.
