However, in Season 5, on the one occasion that someone actually believes Jack when he gives his word, he turns out to be lying as he destroys the information he had promised to hand over to German intelligence agent Theo Stoller in exchange for his help. ** Tons of this at the end of episode 1-7. Sally, ecstatic after Barry's emotional delivery of "My lord, the queen is dead" helps her to launch into a great rendition of the "tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow" soliloquy, tells him that "you're a real actor" and that he should do whatever he did to prepare every time he has to act. Barry of course is suffering from RealLife hysterics after [[spoiler: murdering his friend Chris]].
** Barry, a hitman who is struggling with his actions and trying to leave a life of crime, is cast opposite Sally to perform a scene from ''Theatre/{{Macbeth}}''. Naturally, we would expect Barry to deliver a soliloquy as Macbeth, Shakespeare's famous killer who is haunted by the murders he committed. Instead, Sally plays Macbeth and Barry plays an incredibly minor character with one line.

*** In the later seasons, the Cardassians enter into an alliance with the Dominion, ostensibly in the hopes that such a partnership would allow them to retake Bajor and other territory they lost. By the final season, however, it becomes clear that this is no partnership: with Cardassian forces being considered expendable, their rights eroded, and their territory being further diminished, it becomes clear that Cardassia is not an ally of the Dominion, but merely another conquered race. Further driving this point home are the brutal ramifications against the Cardassians once a rebellion forms (up to and including wholesale genocide), which mirrors the Cardassians' own brutal reign over the Bajorans during their occupation. In "The Changing Face Of Evil", Damar acknowledges this he publicly announces his HeelFaceTurn.

* ''Series/{{Luck}}'' didn't seem to have much. The show about horse racing debuted to decent ratings and received an early renewal for a second season. Then some of the horses on the show started showing injuries or dying. During the investigation into the injuries and deaths, HBO rescinded the second season renewal and cancelled the show.
* ''Lucky 7'' was the first show of the 2013-2014 season to be cancelled.

** J. Peterman has fired Elaine for numerous petty reasons (however, she's always rehired by the next episode). But the one time she does something that could and ''should'' have gotten her fired (eating a $29,000 piece of cake from King Edward's wedding), he enacts no discipline at all. His reasoning: she admits to him that she hasn't yet passed the cake with butter-based frosting which had been sitting in a poorly ventilated English basement for sixty years and he believed what she was about to go through to be "punishment enough".

* The fifth season of ''Series/NineOneOne'' opens with Jeffrey Hudson, the serial rapist arrested by Athena, going to trial. The trial gets interrupted by a hacker shutting down the power grid and Hudson escapes. After overpowering Detective Ransone, Hudson steals his car and badge. He kidnaps Athena's son and gets a bystander to back off by claiming to be Ransone, but the bystander films him on her phone anyway. He then takes Athena's son to a "no police zone" organized by disgruntled citizens as a result of the blackout. Athena tracks him there and goes after him. The disgruntled citizens recognize Hudson from the video and help Athena take him down. It's unknown if they ever found out they were helping a cop go after a criminal when they thought they were helping a fellow citizen take down a cop.
