** Khatie's dialogue with the player changes depending on their standing with the Skyguard, going from casual flirtation with a colleague to Khatie coming off as being somewhat tongue-tied in your presence. It's actually led to her being sort of a [[TheWoobie woobie]] for the ''WoW'' community.

* And Skyguard Khatie, a neutral gnome quest-giver of the Sha'tari Skyguard, who flirts with the player at every opportunity, regardless of the player character's gender. Crosses into outright {{Squick}} if the player happens to be playing a tauren, draenei, Forsaken, etc.

** The reason this is specified is because there are two of those jokes in Hillsbrad Foothills and Un'goro Crater.

* Anren Shadowseeker, a night elf, and Tholo Whitehoof, a tauren, first appeared in ''Cataclysm'' as unremarkable quest givers who happened to be standing next to one another just outside the starting area in Hyjal Summit. In patch 4.2, during the Molten Front dailies, they reappear to help fight the invasion from the Firelands, and ''every single thing'' either one of them says has to do with their deep friendship and devotion to one another. By the eighth or ninth time you run into them, it's difficult for anyone, regardless of personal inclinations, to not be wondering when they're just going to start making out.

* Implied in the night elf military, but that's a gender segregation thing.

** I just imagined the guy looking at the blood elf guy, thinking "Eh, close enough", and driving off with him.

* There's an epic quest chain in the Badlands were you are told three hilarious stories by three different people. The third guy will tell you that the first two stories weren't that great because, among other flaws, they had no hot babes in them. When you're phased to his version of the story, you are surrounded by hot babes... one of whom is a male blood elf. Should you choose to take the male Blood Elf with you during the quest, he even refers to him as a "strapping Blood Elf lad", so it's not another "no one can tell the Blood Elf sexes apart" joke.

* There are bunches of same-gender couples in the ''{{World of Warcraft}}'', including but certainly not limited to: two women who live together, one of whom teaches skinning while the other teaches leatherworking; and two women who run a barrow in Menethil, one of whom is a bowyer while the other is a fletcher.
** The skinning/leatherworking couple has been recently joined by two men, a botanist and a druid, who are colleagues and friends.

* Try playing through the death knight starting sequence and telling me there's no Ho Yay between Thassarian and Koltira Deathweaver. Just try. Doesn't help that the latter is a blood elf, and hence {{Bishonen}}...
** Thassarian's comic makes it even more blatant. Koltira was willing to follow him in joining the Alliance, and looked as if he took Thass's "we each have to figure this out in our own way" as a rejection. When he leaves, Thassarian muses over "this puzzling feeling" of missing him.
** In Cataclysm they are shown to be leading opposing armies in Andorhal. [[spoiler:It is revealed later on the Horde side of that chain that Koltira is just pretending to be Thassarian's enemy; they have an "understanding" that neither will openly attack the other. After a failed Alliance assault, Sylvanas meets up with Koltira to berate him for being weak. She kidnaps him and plans to brainwash him, starting with getting rid of his attachment to Thassarian, who managed to escape and is now trying to find out what happened to his friend.]]
* Ditto Asric and Jadaar, [[VitriolicBestBuds two former Shattrath cops]] currently camped out at the Argent Tournament grounds (after having lived in the [[AbsurdlySpaciousSewer Dalaran Underbelly]] for a while). Especially seeing as Asric is also a [[OurElvesAreBetter blood elf]]. (Jadaar is a draenei... [[HugeGuyTinyGirl Huge Guy, Much Smaller Bishonen]]?)
** They bicker, they drink together, they claim to hate each other yet we haven't seen them apart yet. And lately, their arguments and namecalling have been less serious and more affectionate. It's only a matter of time...
* Kil'jaeden, Archimonde, and Velen, anyone? The first two immediately run to comfort Velen after his vision of the destruction of Argus, responding to the emotion in his mental plea; he is shocked when they don't listen to him. They are, paraphrased, "the ones whom he had once regarded as extensions of his own soul". Velen and Kil'jaeden were said to be exceptionally close. This has much potential for FoeYay.
** Well, Kil'jaeden was certainly ''acting'' like a [[PsychoExGirlfriend jilted lover]] in ''RiseOfTheHorde''...
*** Clarification: he spent 25,000 years alternating between stalking and cutting himself over Velen, then when Archimonde confronts him about wasting his time he brushes it off, but thinks "You don't understand you never loved him like I did!" And while Velen counted Archimonde as one of his closet friends, Kil'jaeden downplays their relationship as something between colleagues. Which makes him either jealous or trying to justify his actions to himself. Or both. It's a wonder the slash fangirls aren't all over it.

* A confirmed lesbian couple: Kinelory (night elf druid) and Quae (human warrior) in Arathi Highlands.
** Not exactly confirmed, from the various logs they are only stated to be close friends. Anything else is {{Fanon}}, albeit fanon with more basis than most.
* King Varian Wrynn and his advisor Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, anyone? According to Lady Jaina Proudmoore, ThoseTwoGuys were like brothers to each other and had become very close since the Queen died. Bolvar stood as a regent and father figure for little Prince Anduin when Varian was kidnapped. And [[spoiler:when Bolvar was killed in the betrayal at the Wrathgate, Varian went into an UnstoppableRage and decided to raid one of the biggest settlements of the Horde just to find and kill the guy who murdered his "pal".]]
** He then [[spoiler: declared war on the Horde.]]

* Ner'zhul and Gul'dan's fawning over Kil'jaeden in ''RiseOfTheHorde'' went a little too far for simple respect and admiration.
* And now there are Fiona's "boys", Gidwin "Giddy" Goldbraids and Tarenar Sunstrike. The HoYay really kicks in at the end half of their quest chain, when [[spoiler:Gidwin is captured by Scourge. Fiona is visibly upset (she is the TeamMom after all), but Tarenar flat-out [[UnstoppableRage flips]].]]

*** Actually, if this troper is correct the Orc actually notes that he picked a, "Strapping blood elf lad" when the blood elf is picked. Still technically plays to the androgyny of the blood elves but still.

* The new jewelcrafting daily quests in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar are given by female characters. While all five possible quests are "[[Futurama]]" references, "A Present for Lila" makes it sound a lot like both questgivers are employing you to make them a gift that they can give to their mutual love interest, a one-eyed female pirate captain.

* And now there are Fiona's "boys", Gidwin "Giddy" Goldbraids and Tarenar Sunstrike. The HoYay really kicks in at the end half of their quest chain, when [[spoiler:Gidwin is captured by scourge.
