After Rui injuries himself in episode 7 from a fall, Akito, albeit reluctantly at first, helps Rui over to the medical tent and references back to Rui's line about "using people to make a perfect show" from ''An Ode for the Pure of Heart'' when he tries to downplay his need for assistance. Rui is very grateful for Akito's help, and they have a moment of a developing FriendlyRivalry when Rui makes it back to his group after being fixed up by Mafuyu. It's implied that Akito sees himself in Rui, as Akito also had a time, particularly in ''STRAY BAD DOG'', where he rejected help from others.
