Come the 2020 Game Awards where he is indeed in Smash and the video in question is flooded with comments regarding how he seen the future.

* "One Winged Angel is the theme song of 2020" was a frequent meme on YT uploads of the song around the middle of 2020, due to the 2020's reputation as a TraumaCongaLine of a year. One notable variant was that the year would end with the song suddenly playing (with the implication being that Sephiroth himself would come to Earth). Near the end of 2020, Sephiroth was announced for Smash at the Game Awards, complete with his iconic theme song playing.
