** Toni reveals early in season 2 that she loves party planning materials and wedding planning and has dreamed about her own future wedding for years and has a vision for how she wants it to go, speaking about the topic with complete sincerity. Fatin is completely taken aback at the revelation.
** As shallow as she may seem, Fatin is the most empathetic of the girls, being the first to pick up on people's emotional needs. It allows her to help when Leah starts slipping, detect BST between Toni and Shelby and help Martha with her ParalyzingFearOfSexuality. In Season 2 she also recites an Islamic prayer while with Shelby as well. Shelby's surprised because Fatin had never said anything about religion before, though it is shown that she comes from a Muslim family. Fatin does say it's all the remembers, granted.

* The entire premise of ''Series/CobraKai'' hinges on this, giving the JerkJock bully of ''Film/TheKarateKid'' a SympatheticPOV and revealing that, beneath the one-note bully he was in the film, lies a [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold a genuinely good man]] who's actually a hell of a lot ''better'' a person than you'd expect to have come from such a messed-up background. Even ''John Kreese'' gets a sympathetic backstory, and while it's not nearly enough to even come close to redeeming or excusing his actions, it at least reveals he was once a genuinely nice, optimistic, and hopeful person before [[WarIsHell being put through a psychological meat grinder in Vietnam]] and coming out the other end a manipulative sadistic sociopath.
