* Ciel's Normal Ending in the Remake may be a massive Tear Jerker, but there are some spots that warms the heart too.
** Despite everything, Shiki and Arcueid part on good terms. When her head cools off, she no longer cares about monopolizing Shiki or regaining what Roa took from her, she is just desperate to keep him alive. Shiki himself still cannot find it in him to hate her.
** Shiki's brief conversation with Roa is unexpectedly cordial. Despite everything, Roa's final words to Shiki are essentially telling him that nothing is impossible and to have hope and determination. Shiki repeats Roa's words to himself in the epilogue, showing it clearly had an effect.
** While Shiki is initially heartbroken to find Ciel dead, he still sees it as part of "atonement" to live a happy life and graduate. Ironically, this is the only ending where we see his face in full, and he wears a clear, soft smile, proving that he had come to terms with the tragedy that befell him and Ciel and is still able to remain on his own two feet with both a desire to live and a hope that one day he may be able to save Ciel too.
