* The Good ending, but especially where the visions of Torque's family forgive him for not being around to protect them from Blackmore's men. The note written on the picture of Torque's family.family sells how close the bond between them is here.

** The first time you earn Good karma in the first game (by successfully escorting a guard to safety) gives you a taste of what being good in this game is like:
--->Torque's wife's voice: I always saw the good in you.

* Being Good is, in its own way, massively Heartwarming all on its own; Torque may be a brutal angel of mercy, but he can go through the game saving everyone he can, and granting peace to those who can't be saved. Even as grim as things are, the world of the Suffering is one in which heroism still exists.

* Hell, right before the final boss, Torque's family will assure you that someone else was responsible for their death, as long as you were good, of course. Malcolm will say that the assassins were wearing black masks. Cory will forgive him for being unable to protect them, even though he never got a chance to say goodbye. His wife will comfort him with the knowledge that he never took out his anger on them, and will encourage Torque to destroy his inner evil once and for all.

* This quote from the loading screen for Chapter 15 in Ties That Bind may count:
--> Ranse Truman: The power of the human heart astonishes. The worst of the worst still manage to procreate. Even the deeply disturbed can find someone to love them.

Removing Nightmare Fuel potholes. NF should be on YMMV only.

For a game as horrifying and Gorn stark as The Suffering, it did manage its fair share of touching moments as well.
