** Ross offering to help feels particularly heartwarming since he doesn't have a personal investment in Wakanda the way the others do. A cynic could argue that he wants to stop the monster the CIA created with Killmonger, but he genuinely seems ready to help T'Challa in his time of need.

* The odds were never stacked in this movie's favor. It was the first movie in the MCU to feature a black lead, the first superhero movie to feature a black lead since ''Film/BladeTrinity'', and one of the only superhero movies ever to feature a predominantly black cast. With all this in mind, a final product that was only, "decent" would never have worked. Black Panther couldn't afford to be a good film, it had to be an exemplary one. Despite all that, it topped the charts at the box office, and was praised by critics and audiences alike, meeting all the raised expectations and them with style.
