* The meeting between Shoya and Ueno in Chapter 61 where Ueno finally apologizes to Shoya about the way she'd treated him and Shoko when they were kids and feeling like she's a terrible person for trying to erase their friendship and because she still doesn't like Shoko (or more specifically, [[{{Tsundere}} actively wants to resist liking her]]). ** Doubly heartwarming when you realize that in this moment, Shoya is showcasing the height of his CharacterDevelopment: getting to say to a freshly repentant former bully of Shoko's what he must have desperately wished someone had said to him during the heights of his depression...and, in a certain way, what Shoko ''did'' say to him through offering up her forgiveness when he came to return her notebook.

* The little side story where it shows Shoko getting her hair cut by Shoya’s mother. When she’s informed by Shoko’s mother that she wants Shoko to have a boyish appearance, Shoya’s mother asks Shoko if she wants the haircut her mother wants. Shoko says no and instead wants a bob cut. Even though Shoko’s mother was upset her daughter received a different haircut, Shoko was thankful to Shoya’s mother for her service.

** If you want to have some hope after Nishimiya's perceived failure, Ishida's response about the moon being beautiful is ''very'' meaningful if one remembers that in Japan it's a poetic way of saying "I love you." In a way, Nishimiya got reciprocation anyways.

* In chapter 5, Shouya is imagining how pathetic his life would be and we get to see a picture of a much older version of him on a pile of trash bags. What's heartwarming is that in that pile of trash bags, there is a picture frame of a person that looks a lot like his mother. * The fact that Shouya learned UsefulNotes/SignLanguage as part of his mission to atone for what he did to Shouko is heartwarming in and of itself.

* Shouya spending the night looking for Shouko with her mother and sister at least warms them up to him a little more than before.

Even when he envisions himself as on the road to a pathetic life, he still keeps his mother close to his heart.

* Even more Heartwarming has come in Chapter 46.[[spoiler: Nagatsuka is the first of the old group to have a real and passive conversation with Shouko since the incident. He's even the first to directly ask her why she tried to commit suicide. Her answer was that she felt like she ruined what everyone worked so hard to achieve. Nagatsuka's response to this? To immediately ask her what they can do to fix what she feels she ruined. Shouko says that she would like to finish the movie with him and everyone else, and Nagatsuka whole heartedly agrees, writing "Let's do it together!" on the notepad they were using to communicate. This all just show that despite what happened on the bridge, Nagatsuka is still willing to be there for Shouko, and for Shouya too- because he really is their friend.]]
