In the epilogue, all the evil characters are either safe or unpunished, and the kidnapper guild relocates peacefully, a particularly dark detail suggests that the new port is where pirates sell girls into slavery, to the western kingdom nobles who have no qualms about maids who don't need to be paid. Right now, it may feel to one's mileage like a hollow victory at best. If anything, the world just got DarkerAndEdgier.

Especially knowing Suki wanted the girls free.
