* Wow, that accounting person was still there in the evening - she sure has a long shift! Ah, hospital workers tend to get stuck with 12 hours shifts, especially back in the '90s.

** If we accept second film events as canon, then human genetic disorders are very toxic for aliens. [[spoiler: Alien was killed by being stabbed with pitchforks covered in the blood of a carrier for a genetic disorder.]]. Such a sick baby (or even sperm) may be very toxic for Sil. Even if it didn't kill her, that’s a waste of time to be sick. I would compare it to predators not eating rotten meat. It isn't any effort to eat it, but the consequences may be tragic.
** Also, was the diabetic guy really diabetic? This troper took it as him being a drug addict and he was lying about it being diabetes (which makes more sense as to why Sil would reject him in comparison it being diabetes).

* Sil's pickiness about her mates' genetics (n.b. her rejection of the diabetic guy) makes no biological sense with regard to her rapid gestation rate. Most female animals that mate selectively do so because taking an inferior mate wastes a considerable portion of their reproductive lifespan, carrying and nurturing an inferior genetic offspring. This is time they could better spend carrying a superior child if they choose their mates well. But in Sil's case, this makes no sense, because she completes her pregnancies so quickly. Her babies are born and able to hunt their own food within minutes of conception. But after rejecting the diabetic, it took Sil almost 24 hours to court and seduce her next mate. If she'd had sex with the diabetic, then by the time she slept with the hot tub guy, she would've already have had her first child. Maybe the child would've been dead from its sub-standard genetics, or maybe it would've been carrying and propagating an imperfect version of Sil's DNA. Either way, Sil is no worse off in terms of her procreative drive; '''and''' 24 hours later, she's still seducing her next target, getting ready to make baby number 2.

** Also in ''Species II'' [[spoiler: the female astronauts dies after giving birth]]. When in the first film [[spoiler: Sil gives birth and lives]]. [[PlotHole No explanation is ever given or suggested as well]].
*** remember that Sil had rapid regeneration powers, hence why she could survive the birth, while the female astronaut didn't. Though, this brings another Fridge Logic of why the female astronaut didn't turn into a hybrid while Patrick did...
* As they were digging that AbsurdlySpaciousSewer under the hotel, not a single survey detected the GIANT CAVE SYSTEM?
* FridgeBrilliance: Wow, that accounting person was still there in the evening - she sure has a long shift! Ah, hospital workers tend to get stuck with 12 hours shifts, especially back in the 90's.

** Why does Sil need a cocoon? Cocoons are used by animals that dramatically change their shape between the juvenile and adult form, like butterflies. Something Sill doesn't do. Not to mention that she's a shapeshifter anyway; she rearranges her body ''without'' needing a cocoon multiple times in the movie.
** In ''Species II'' {{The Virus}} infects two astronauts on a Mars mission. [[spoiler: One of them is female]]. The [[spoiler: male]] infected astronaut immediately develops the hots for Sil's clone Eve, with whom he is in telepathic contact, and wants to knock her up and make [[FetusTerrible some kind of special evil baby that only results when two aliens mate]]. [[spoiler: But he never shows any such interest in the female astronaut.]] Instead he develops the hots for the one that's locked in a ([[CardboardPrison not so]]) secure government facility. [[PlotHole No explanation is ever given or suggested]].

* In the first movie there's a closeup of Sil in John Carey's garden where she blinks and we see that she has nictitating membranes in addition to "normal" eyelids. You thought that was just there because [[RuleOfCool it looks cool and alien]]. Nictitating membranes are a feature possessed only by semi-aquatic tetrapods, so her having them is a subtle indication that she can function underwater for prolonged periods, [[spoiler:foreshadowing the scene at the film's climax where she hides underwater to elude the heroes]].
