* Considering the film's MonsterMash, it makes so much sense that the most heroic pet monster would be the one based on FrankensteinsMonster. In [[Literature/{{Frankenstein}} the original book]], the monster was a tragic character who just wanted to be loved and treated like a human. It was only because people were repulsed by his appearance that [[ThenLetMeBeEvil he actually became a monster and started killing people]]. With the sympathetic nature of Frankenstein's monster, combined with the loyalty of a dog, it's no wonder that Sparky is the most heroic pet after his transformation.

* There was a lot of sewing to do on Sparky after Victor dug him up. That dog must have been seriously mangled when the car hit him - and Victor saw it.

* When Sparky drinks water, it sprays out a seam in his back. When he eats a fly, it flies out a hole in his neck. [[BodyHorror It kinda makes you wonder how well that dog is holding up internally...]]
