* While Holli is very suave and charismatic as a Doodle, she suddenly becomes very awkward as a Noid in how she acts. It makes sense for two reasons. 1) She's not used to being human and 2) it's not natural for her to be a regular human in the place. So it's only natural that she suddenly becomes awkward.

awkward, curious about her new senses, etc.

* When Deebs grips the Spike, it turns him into a stereotypical Superman knockoff/parody Doodle, complete with a personality to go with it. Super Deebs doesn't resemble Jack in any way... though Jack wasn't exactly brilliant before, Super Deebs has the IQ of a particularly dense rock and his personality is a complete 180. The ending shows that the changes seem to be permanent... Super Deebs is still acting like a cheesy, goofy, over-the-top parody of a "good guy" rather than the acerbic perversion that characterized Jack. In essence, this means that the Spike didn't grant Jack the power to save the world... it killed/completely destroyed him and replaced him with its own idea of a hero.

* It's told at the end that Noids killed by Doodles become Doodles themselves. And it's stated that Jack is one of many pawns Holli attempted to use to get to the real world. Given her sociopathic nature, it's not above the possibility that she killed some of them when they couldn't measure up...

** ''And the number one, giveaway as to what's really going on:'' When Frank first arrives in the cartoon world after losing his mother, who is the first person he speaks to? A doctor. What is the first thing Dr. Whiskers does? Examine Frank. What happens next? The doc takes Frank to a mysterious new home, while attempting to comfort him.
** In a meta sense, Holli Would in becoming the villain [[ExecutiveMeddling in the revised version of the screenplay]] doubles as a TakeThat to Hollywood as a whole(more specifically producer Frank Mancusco Jr for ordering a rewrite of the film behind Bakshi's back due to him not wanting to do another horror film and instead wanting to try and chase after "Roger Rabbit's" success).
* While Cool World looks very in the end compared to the majority of the screen time. For most of it, it is a hellscape and it both reflects Jack's tortured mental state and Holli's [[SatanicArchetype subtle influence as a Lucifer-esque figure]] affecting how nightmarish it looks as their actions shape the world (while Jack never created Cool World, his depiction of it paints it as a hellscape with hyper-realistic monsters occasionally appearing- which cease once he's a traditional hero- with the cartoons becoming appropriately zaney to match the change). Once Jack is turned into a traditional hero and Holli loses her influence as she's reduced to a "wife", it becomes a traditionally zany world. It's a FisherKing effect without it being explicit about it.

** It's not that doodles can't feel anything. It's that noids feel things more intensely, due to the simple fact that they can feel pain. Pain and pleasure are cut from the same cloth, and without that contrast, pleasure loses much of its appeal. Frank is a special case, since he specifically came to Cool World so he wouldn't have to deal with the pain he constantly faced in the real world. Thus, becoming a doodle is literally the best thing he could ever hope to have happen to him. As he said about reality, "It hurts over there."

* FridgeLogic: Knowledge of various Doodle/Noid interactions and their consequences are extremely widespread in Cool World, but aside from one or two throwaway lines about what Holli's been up to lately, Frank and Jack are apparently the only humans who've even been to Cool World, let alone know it exists.
** Debatable as it's implied humans ''have'' lost it and come to Cool World, they usually just don't last very long.

* FridgeBrilliance: "Cool World" is riddled with hints that the movie is about insanity, and that the way one gets to Cool World is by leaving reality. A few notable clues:
** Frank and Jack both had breaking points where they snapped; Frank when he lost his mother right after returning from the War, and Jack when he killed his wife's boyfriend.
** "You've lost it man, that's why you're here!"
** Frank asks Nails if Jack's presence in Cool World is "just another dream-slip" (implying that normal people have short-term visits to Cool World via dreams, the one time when all of us break from reality).
** The faces of the buildings in Cool World may represent different emotions the insane person is randomly running in and between
** ''And the number one, give-away as to what's really going on:'' When Frank first arrives in the cartoon world after losing his mother, who is the first person he speaks to? A doctor. What is the first thing Dr. Whiskers does? Examine Frank. What happens next? The doc takes Frank to a mysterious new home, while attempting to comfort him.
