Earlier in the film, Michael calls Jonathan midway through the "Sextet" montage. He appears clearly rattled and tells Jonathan he has some things he wants to talk about–heavily implied to be [[spoiler:about his diagnosis]]–but when Jonathan proves clearly distracted about the workshop he changes the subject. Later, when he is chewing out Jonathan for ruining the job opportunity at his marketing firm, he agitatedly tells Jonathan he is trying to make do with what he has "while I still have time left" and refuses to elaborate when Jonathan notices something's up.
