* TheMainCharactersDoEverything: Justified: [[spoiler:Morris' failure to inform the authorities means that by the time the shark reaches the beaches of China the crew are the only ones in a position to do anything about. Further, Mmac mentions that even though he did try to warn people nobody believed talk of a giant prehistoric shark.]]

''The Meg'' is a 2018 action horror film directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber. It is based on the ThreateningShark genre novel ''[[Literature/{{Meg}} Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror]]'' by Steve Alten, and stars Creator/JasonStatham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, and Cliff Curtis.
