** The Coalition Handbook confirmed Hunk to be half Samoan and half African-American.

Sometimes she has the same body type as Allura where she has smaller breasts but other times she appears to have very large breasts. This change in size may be an illusion resulting from her baggy clothes.

* Due to his past as a gladiator in Galra arenas Shiro is portrayed as having lots of scars all over his body besides the one on his nose. Some art by staff animators indicates that he has some on his arms, while scenes in the show suggest his left arm doesn't.

* Keith's surname is often given in fanworks as "[[AlliterativeName Kogane]]", after his ''Golion'' counterpart. This is favoured by those who believe Shiro is Keith's biological brother/step-brother, who adopted the term [[FanNickname "Broganes"]].
** "[=McClain=]" and "Garrett" get tossed around fairly often for Lance and Hunk's last names, since they were also used for earlier incarnations of them.
