* NamedByTheAdaptation: Hiashi's father had no name in neither the manga nor the anime. This fic gives him the name "Yoshikane".

** An old woman explains to Shikamaru and Suigetsu in Chapter 45 that she is excited about the execution of 5 bloodline wielders because her husband and children were killed by the Kaguya clan (who happens to have bloodlines). While they hide it, Suigetsu (who has a bloodline himself) later tells Shikamaru that he's not sympathetic at all and that he's sure that the people about to be executed have nothing to do with the woman's family's death. Shikamaru agrees.

** [[BadassGrandma Koharu]] is the "Grim Reaper of Konoha". Chapter 57 shows that she more than lives up to the name.
