* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Twice, Ratchet calls out Lockdown, asking the bounty hunter what would he be without his weapons and how would he be remembered in the long run.

* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: With some convincing from Sari and his friends, Optimus chose to become the new Magnus.

* BackstabBackfire: Fanzone has disabled the Seed in case Lockdown attempts to betray him and Ratchet. Surprise, surprise, it proves to be the correct choice when the amoral mercenary does attempt to backstab the heroes.

** Alpha Trion is not too happy that Sentinel lied about Optimus and Megatron.

* DealWithTheDevil: Sentinel begs for his life and made a deal with Megatron to be spared in exchange for the latter to stay on Earth and the Elite Guard will not interfere with him ever again.
* DirtyCoward: Sentinel's fatal flaw. When the situation doesn't go in his favor, he would sacrifice anything and anyone and made severely bad choices to save his own skin. Megatron will later call this out on Sentinel.

* DreamingOfThingsToCome: Sari dreams of Earth getting covered in metal, killing everyone including the Autobots. This is later revealed to be the work of the Seed and cyberforming.
* DumbassHasAPoint: Grimlock advises to himself and Optimus that it's best that they don't get involved with Blackarachnia, noting that the attachments they had towards her were nothing more than toxic relationships that went nowhere.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: The end of Season 4 with Optimus finally becoming Magnus and leading the Autobots to a new golden age.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Megatron was once a noble gladiator who wanted to bring prosperity for his Decepticons until the war changed him into a [[AGodAmI ruthless tyrant]].
* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: Sumdac System was the heart and soul of Detroit until it starts to lose its touch due to Professor Sumdac having drowned in guilt for his unintentional role in helping Megatron and the loss of investments done by Meltdown.

* ItsPersonal: Megatron's campaign against the Autobots starts after Ultra Magnus shut down the gladiatorial arena where Megatron fought and where he first met Shockwave.

* KeepTheReward: Subverted. Wreck-Gar becomes Mayor of Detroit. The reason this happens because Ratchet says that while heroes won't do it for the rewards but sometimes, it's good to earn them.
* KillAndReplace: Subverted with the killing part. Megatron switches places with Shattered Megatron to get the Dark [=AllSpark=], causing this to be TheBadGuyWins.

* LivingMacGuffin: Bulkhead is the central component for the Constructicons' Devastator. Which also means he can [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard disassemble]] them.

* MirrorUniverse: Sari and Bumblebee enter into [[ComicBook/TransformersShatteredGlass an alternate universe]] where Autobots are villains and the Decepticons are heroes.

* MyGreatestSecondChance: Bulkhead helps Mixmaster and Scrapper to escape from the Constructicons to make it up to them for dragging them into the war.

** Sentinel gets hit ''hard'' with this when he realizes how everything he's done has played straight into Megatron's hands, especially when he realizes that his actions not only got Jetfire and Jetstorm killed but also has doomed both Earth and Cybertron. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't get a chance to make things right because Megatron kills him shortly after delivering a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech.

** Shattered Glass Optimus's voice is based on the Beast Wars Megatron, complete with frequent declarations of [[BigYes "YEEES!"]]

** Megatron chews Sentinel out that his incompetence and desire for power made him an unworthy Magnus and that he's responsible for the deaths of Jetfire and Jetstorm along with Cybertron's destruction.

* ThrownOutTheAirlock: Ratchet and Fanzone launch Rattletrap into outerspace for causing a lot of the trouble in the first place.

* UniversallyBelovedLeader: Everyone on Cybertron pretty much agrees that [[TheAce Optimus]] [[IdealHero Prime]] should be the next Magnus due to all his accomplishments and are angered when he and his team are imprisoned in the stockade. Even ''Megatron'' of all bots agrees Optimus is more worthy of being Magnus than Sentinel.

** Bumblebee becomes the new drill sergeant but unlike Sentinel, he's a CoolTeacher who actually treats his cadets with respect.

* YouAreNotAlone: Sari's genuine sympathy towards Slipstream regarding how both of them had been abandoned by their friends touches the Decepticon into pulling a HeelFaceTurn.

* BackstabBackfire: Fanzone has disabled the Seed in case Lockdown attempts to betray him and Ratchet. It works.

* BrainUploading: Optimus figures out that by transferring the sparks of the newly techo-organic Bumblebee and Blackarachnia into blank slated protoforms, they can have their original forms restored. It works for Bee but BA, [[AllForNothing not so much]] because her Cybetronian body has been too long bonded with her Organic half.

* BullyingTheDragon: Powell plans to have his Headmaster forces against the Decepticons backfires. Not only are they destroyed, but the attack causes the Decepticons to retaliate on the humans.

* ChekhovsSkill: Wreck's Gar talent to build structurally sound fortresses becomes handy in saving city hall.

* DumbassHasAPoint: Grimlock advises to himself and Optimus that it's best that they don't get involved with Blackarachnia, noting it to be a toxic relationship.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: As Crazy Blitzwing correctly summarizes, ''I'm not so sure I'm the crazy one anymore'' when compared to Megatron.

* EveryoneCanSeeIt: Everyone could see there something going on between Arcee and Ratchet.

* HateSink: Shockwave has ticked off a lot of people, especially Blackarachnia, Lugnut, and Blitzwing.

* HumiliationConga: After Powell spent all his savings in his mayoral campaign, he has to force himself to work at Burger Bot and after a scuffle with the Decepticons, he is left on the streets alone.

* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Sentinel Magnus's death.

* IronicEcho: Bumblebee delivers a line that Shockwave uses on Blurr.

* KarmicDeath: Shockwave is killed by the bot he framed.

* LaserGuidedKarma: Dirt Boss gets ironically bossed around by Megatron.

* LoopHoleAbuse: Jazz tells his friends to revert back to their Cybertronian Vehicle modes since Powell can't sue them if they using their own original designs.

** Sunstorm and Ramjet when they realized they are about to be killed to get their Allspark fragments.

** Megatron calls out each member of the SUV about how they are insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
** Megatron chews Sentinel out that his incompetence and desire for power made him an unworthy Magnus and that he's responsible for the deaths of Jetfire and Jetstorm and Cybertron's destruction.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Lockdown, of all bots, destroy Swindle's operation to save Ratchet and Fanzone. In "Optimus Rising", he receives a statue in memory of him alongside statues of Master Yoketron and Prowl.

** Since being with Optimus is not possible, Black Arachnia took interest with the tech organic clone of him.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Blitzwing was the only one who questions Megatron's slow descent to insanity and questionable actions. This culminates in him trying to usurp his leader to prevent any more, and later making a HeelFaceTurn with Lugnut to help the Autobots in the final battle.
