Transformers Animated Season 4 is a fan-made video series created by Keyan Carlile with the sole purpose of continuing the WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated cartoon after its Cancellation. It is primarily told through storyboards with an amateur cast made up of classmates of Keyan at his high school and some faculty members lending their voices to the characters.

!! Transformers Animated Season 4 Contains:

* AdaptationalHeroism / AdaptationalNiceGuy: Surprisingly, several of the villains, both humans and Decepticons, get this treatment, receiving additional moments that reveal their motivations and humanize them in the eyes of the audience.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Sentinel Prime gets hit with this, as while plans for the original season 4 implied he would have become a more antagonistic figure, it's unlikely he would have stooped as low to imprison Optimus and his team or sell out Earth to Megatron in exchange for his life. He's also more of a DirtyCoward in this version too.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: A minor example, but while Blitzwing in the original series did argue with himself from time to time, his SplitPersonality is treated more as MoodSwinger. Here, each of his three personalities treats each other as a separate individual. Played up more in the color version where he ends up giving a lecture to himself about Autobot bureaucracy.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Sentinel Prime, big time! It's made perfectly clear that everyone on Cybertron despises him as the current Magnus. It's so bad that there's a huge mob appearing outside, demanding him off the position, and eventually, several members of the elite guard form a resistance against him. In contrast...
* EleventhHourSuperpower: Powermaster Optimus Prime.
* ActorAllusion: Wreck-Gar picks up an infinity-sided die and a striped sweater vest before pulling out a bomb to take down Soundwave in "Optimus Rising."
* AgeLift: Cade Yaeger is made around Sari's age.
* AndIMustScream: A lot of villains end up suffering this fate throughout this season: Meltdown sinks into the Earth's core (presumably to his death), Swindle gets trapped inside his own personal storage dimension, and Soundwave and his minions are sentenced to be locked inside the dream world that he subjected the Autobots to in "Human Error".
* AlasPoorVillain: After his last attempt to kill Bumblebee fails, Waspinator drags his mangled body away and begs Optimus to just leave him alone. Fortunately, things get better for Wasp.
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: "Ideals" is a two-part episode focusing on the ADayInTheLimelight Decepticons with the Autobots nowhere to be seen, best exemplified at by this exchange at the end:
-->Optimus: Man, nothing really happened today.
-->Sari: Yep, completely boring day.
* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: Everyone cheers at the end when Optimus finally becomes Magnus.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Ratchet dissects Lockdown's motives twice throughout the story, asking the bounty hunter what would he be without his weapons and how would he be remembered in the long run.
* AssholeVictim: Bumblebee believes Sentinel Magnus is this for all the crap he put them through, but restrains himself to say this out of respect for Optimus.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: Ultra Magnus arrives to curb-stomp Megatron and forces him to leave Cybertron.
* AvengersAssemble: Team Prime recruits all their allies (The Dinobots, Wreck-Gar, SUV, other small-time crooks, and the Shattered Glass Decepticons) to stop Megatron from cyberforming Earth.
* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: With some convincing from Sari and his friends, Optimus chooses to become the new Magnus.
* BackFromTheDead: "[=AllSpark=]-Alypse Now" features Starscream possessing all the Transformers through the [=AllSpark=]. In addition, Prowl comes back through possessing Sentinel Magnus to help Sari.
* BackstabBackfire: Fanzone disables the Seed in case Lockdown attempts to betray him and Ratchet. Surprise, surprise, it proves to be the correct choice when the amoral mercenary does attempt to backstab the heroes.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe:
** Blackarachnia's developing friendship towards Blitzwing due to the latter's role in saving her.
** It's revealed that the reason Lugnut is so loyal to Megatron is that the latter saved his life during the Great War.
* BeingEvilSucks: The SUV admits that their pursuit of villainy has done nothing but ruin their lives.
* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** Optimus gets enraged at Sentinel for making a deal with Megatron to leave the Decepticons alone on Earth in exchange for sparing his life.
** Alpha Trion is not too happy that Sentinel lied about Optimus and Megatron and rakes him over the coals for his selfish cowardice.
* BigDamnReunion: Team Optimus and Sari are happy to finally meet each other after ten years apart.
* BookEnd: Optimus and Megatron have their final battle on the Ark once more.
** Isaac Sumdac, who first discovered Megatron after he landed on Earth, is the one to offline him once and for all. Megatron even muses how their fates are intertwined.
* BrainUploading: Optimus figures out that by transferring the sparks of the newly techo-organic Bumblebee and Blackarachnia into blank slated protoforms, they can have their original forms restored. It works for Bee but BA, not so much because her Cybertronian body has been bonded for too long with her organic half.
* BrokenAce: Even after Blackarachnia restores Blitzwing's sanity, the latter chose to turn back because he honestly believes that Megatron is the only one that can restore the Decepticons.
* BrokenPedestal: Lugnut suffers this after learning that Megatron is not the glorious leader he thought he was.
* BroughtDownToNormal: The Autobots had their weapons disabled. Thankfully, Ratchet restores them, but they are not as effective like last time.
* BullyingTheDragon: Powell's plan to deploy his Headmaster forces against the Decepticons backfires horribly. Not only are they destroyed, but the attack causes the Decepticons to retaliate against humanity.
* CallBack:
** Optimus uses the same technique Starscream created to make his Clones.
** Nanosec reminds Megatron about the Destronium and Megatron remembers Nanosec failing to get them for him.
** Sari informs the Autobots about the underground lab Soundwave built under the Autobot base. They then wonder how Soundwave built the place right without their notice.
** The Nemesis reappears, still stranded on the moon until it's destroyed by the cyberforming.
** Blurr flashes back to the time he got converted into a cube by Shockwave.
** Maccadam's is reopened after Sentinel shut it down.
* ChekhovsGun: Lockdown's ship returns to be used by Sari and SUV to get to Cybertron.

* DealWithTheDevil: Sentinel begs for his life and makes a deal with Megatron to be spared in exchange for the latter to stay on Earth, with the Elite Guard forbidden to pursue him.
* DirtyCoward: Sentinel's fatal flaw. When the situation doesn't go in his favor, he would sacrifice anything and anyone and makes several bad choices to save his own skin. Megatron will later call this out on Sentinel.
* DisarmDisassembleDestroy: Wreck-Gar disassembles Blitzwing and Lugnut to pieces.
* DivideAndConquer: With most of the Decepticon forces heading to Cybertron, Optimus takes advantage of this to get to Megatron and defeat him.
* TheDogBitesBack: Optimus refuses to aid Sentinel, even knocking him back until the rest of Team Prime is free.
* DreamingOfThingsToCome: Sari dreams of Earth getting covered in metal, killing everyone, including the Autobots. This is later revealed to be the work of the Seed and cyberforming.
* DumbassHasAPoint: Grimlock advises himself and Optimus that it's best that they don't get involved with Blackarachnia, noting that the attachments they had towards her were nothing more than toxic relationships that went nowhere.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: The end of Season 4, with Optimus finally becoming Magnus and leading the Autobots to a new golden age.
--> Optimus Magnus: So this is what it feels like to be a hero.
** Waspinator is also turned back into Wasp, who finally forgives Bumblebee for framing him.
* EnemyMine: Jazz manages to convince the Dinobots to team up with them because both sides want to get rid of Dirt Boss and the Constructicons.
** Sari breaks the Society of Ultimate Villainy out of prison to save the Cybertronian race from Starscream's control.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: As Crazy Blitzwing correctly summarizes, he's not so sure he's the crazy one when compared to Megatron, who's gone apeshit bananas after his reformatting.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Megatron genuinely cares for Shockwave ever since their days as gladiators.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: Everyone could see there's something going on between Arcee and Ratchet.
* EvilGloating: Powell records a video of himself explaining his plan. Sari questions the need for this other than Powell boosting his own ego.

* GoMadFromTheIsolation: The Decepticons in the Nemesis went stir-crazy from being stuck on a spaceship light-years away from home.
* GondorCallsForAid: Optimus decides the only way to stop the Decepticons is to rally every ally they can find.
* GreaterScopeParagon: Primus is this, having created Sari to help in the upcoming war between the Autobots and Decepticons.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Unicron, who is responsible for bringing Dark Energon and creating the main threat in this season.
* GreatEscape: Team Char started this to free Megatron.
* HappyEndingOverride: The entire first three-part episode to Season 4.
* HateSink: Shockwave has ticked off a lot of people with his condescending behavior, especially Blackarachnia, Lugnut, and Blitzwing.
* HeelFaceTurn: The SUV forsake their criminal ways and join the good guys.
** The season also ends with the Constructicons, the Starscream clones, Lugnut, Blitzwing and Wasp deciding to live in peace with the Autobots. Lugnut & Blitzwing in particular join the final fight against Megatron after realizing how insane he has become.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: Sentinel locks Ironhide away and shuts down Omega Supreme, fearing one or both of them will tell his secret.
* HeroicHost: Inverted and downplayed. Prowl had to possess Sentinel Magnus in order to protect the [=AllSpark=] energy from Starscream's mind-controlled army.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Megatron was once a noble gladiator who wanted to bring prosperity for his Decepticons until the war changed him into a AGodAmI ruthless, megalomaniacal tyrant.
* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: Sumdac Systems was the heart and soul of Detroit until it starts to lose its touch due to Professor Sumdac having drowned in guilt for his unintentional role in helping Megatron and the loss of investments done by Meltdown.
* HumiliationConga: After Powell spent all his savings in his mayoral campaign, he has to force himself to work at Burger Bot, and after a scuffle with the Decepticons, he is left on the streets alone.
* HypocriticalHumor: Sentinel mocks Optimus for naming his team after himself. Not long after, Jetstorm presents a poster about Team Sentinel.
* IBelieveICanFly: Bumblebee flaps his booster rockets together to fly.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Sentinel Magnus is impaled by Megatron right after the Decepticon leader gives Sentinel a thorough tongue-lashing for his stupidity and arrogance.
* ImpossiblyDeliciousFood: The Constructicons take a liking to Energon.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Sentinel's reason for accusing Optimus of being a Decepticon? Simply because Optimus is red and blue, which makes the color purple.
* IOweYouMyLife: Lugnut's UndyingLoyalty stems from the time when Megatron saved his life during the Great War.
* IronicEcho: Bumblebee delivers the same line that Shockwave used on Blurr when the Decepticon DoubleAgent tried to silence the Autobot spy.
--> Bumblebee: I can't catch you, but I can trap you.
* ItsAllMyFault: Optimus has been feeling guilty for many things, including bringing Megatron and Kaon to Earth.
* ItsPersonal: Megatron's campaign against the Autobots began after Ultra Magnus shut down the gladiatorial arena where Megatron fought and first met Shockwave.
* KangarooCourt: Masterson is hired by Powell to be a judge and keep the Autobots off his back.
* KarmicDeath: Shockwave is killed by Wasp, the very bot he framed so long ago.
* KeepTheReward: Subverted. Wreck-Gar becomes Mayor of Detroit. The reason this happens because Ratchet says that while heroes won't do it for the rewards, sometimes it's good to earn them.
* KillAndReplace: Subverted with the killing part. Megatron switches places with SG!Megatron to get the Dark [=AllSpark=], causing this to be TheBadGuyWins.
* KilledOffForReal: At the end of the series, the ones who are off-lined/dead are Ultra Magnus, Ramjet, Sunstorm, Lockdown, Meltdown, Prowl, Starscream, Jetfire, Jetstorm, Sentinel Prime, Shockwave, and Megatron.
* LaResistance: Arcee, Blurr, and Cliffjumper decide to go against Sentinel Magnus, having had enough of his tyrannical rule over Cybertron.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Dirt Boss gets bossed around by Megatron this time around in a deliciously ironic reversal of how he treated his Constructicon subordinates.
* LivingMacGuffin: Bulkhead is the central component for the Constructicons' gestalt form of Devastator, which also means he can disassemble them.
* LoopHoleAbuse: Jazz tells his friends to revert back to their Cybertronian vehicle modes since Powell can't sue them if they using their own original designs.
* MeaningfulEcho: Alpha Trion refers to Optimus as the bot programmed to be a hero.
* MindControl: Starscream uses this to control all Cybetronians except Megatron through possessing the [=AllSpark=].
* MirrorUniverse: Sari and Bumblebee enter an alternate universe where Autobots are villains and the Decepticons are heroes.
** Outside of the altered Autobots & Decepticons, Isaac Sumdac is the tyrannical ruler of Detroit who keeps Sari as a lab rat, Captain Fanzone is a thug who loves machines, the Dinobots are far more intelligent, Wreck-Gar is an AxCrazy collector, Blurr is the slowest Autobot alive, Omega Supreme is incredibly small, the Constructicons disassemble everything they see, Swindle is an altruistic sales-bot, Soundwave fights for unity between humans & machines, and Lockdown pays others in upgrades to hunt him.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: After Megatron viciously diminishes Blitzwing and Lugnut, the two turn against Megatron. The same happens to Mixmaster and Scrapper after the Constructicons bully them for the last time.
* MonumentalDamage: PlayedForLaughs. The Dinobots spent all their time wrecking Dinobot Island, making into looking like an actual dinosaur.
* MusicalEpisode: Thanks to Soundwave. The creator isn't proud of that episode, so he made a different version that isn't a musical.
* MyGreatestSecondChance: Bulkhead helps Mixmaster and Scrapper escape from the Constructicons to make it up to them for dragging them into the war.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** Bulkhead has this reaction when Scrapper and Mixmaster point out he was responsible for the crappy situation they're currently in. In the end, he does reconcile with the two Constructions, helping them free themselves from the influence of Dirt Boss.
** Sentinel gets hit hard with this when he realizes how everything he's done has played straight into Megatron's hands, especially when he realizes that his actions not only got Jetfire and Jetstorm killed, but also has doomed both Earth and Cybertron. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't get a chance to make things right because Megatron kills him shortly after delivering a ReasonYouSuckSpeech.
* MythologyGag: Several of these pops up in the season.
** Jazz's line "You want a piece of me?" is based on his film counterpart's defiant boast to Megatron in Film/2007.
** Cade is based on Cade Yeager from Film/TransformersAgeOfExtinction.
** Much of the plot is based on the canceled Season 4.
** The porcupine-looking Decepticon is based on Quillfire from WesternAnimation/TransformersRobotsInDisguise.
** Episode 4 has references to WesternAnimation/BeastWars. Other than the Pteranodon, who is most likely a reference to Terrorsaur, Blackarachnia's test animals consists of a gorilla, cheetah, rhinoceros, rat, white tiger, and falcon.
** The song during the battle between Jazz and Soundwave is from the original G1 Transformers. Even Jazz's original Cybertronian form is based on his G1 counterpart.
** The final scene of the Shattered Glass characters is directly based on WesternAnimation/TheTransformersTheMovie.
** Shattered Glass Optimus's voice is based on the Beast Wars Megatron, complete with frequent declarations of "YEEESSS!"
** The title of "Trukk, Not Munky!" is derived from a phrase used by Transformers fans to mock those complaining about the franchise. Fittingly, this is the episode featuring characters from Beast Wars, which was the origin of that saying.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Megatron's ability to turn Allspark energy into Anti-Allspark's is used to weaponized Slo-Mo's time stopping device to destroy the Allspark. However, this allows Slo-Mo to use the device on him.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Sentinel has Optimus and Team Prime locked in the stockades even though they succeed in bring Megatron to justice. Most likely for this is due to Sentinel refusing to give up his position as Magnus.
* NoIndoorVoice: Sari explains her whole plan to Mayor Edsel's former aide for some reason and predictably, the latter didn't like it.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Ratchet decides to use a mod and likes it, despite his qualms about them.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: Heroic example with Alpha Trion and Perceptor, who intervene whenever Sentinel does something stupid (which is to say, all the damn time).
* OhCrap:
** Sunstorm and Ramjet when they realized they are about to be killed for the Allspark fragments that power them.
** Cliffjumper claims that Omega Supreme was shut down, but the problem is that Sentinel brought him back online again.
** Shockwave after Bumblebee reveals to Waspinator that he was the one who framed him.
* OnlySaneMan: Hook to the Constructicons.
* OutOfFocus: While Starscream’s general absence is justified (due to being dead), his lack of presence is still notable in “Ideals”, which is entirely dedicated to fleshing out and exploring the backstories of the other main Decepticons, yet Starscream is only there as a silent extra, and in “Mirror, Mirror”, where his heroic counterpart is said to have committed a HeroicSacrifice off-screen.
* PetTheDog: After freeing himself, Mixmaster, and Scrapper from Devastator, Bulkhead persuades them to leave and be free.
* ThatManIsDead: Lockdown was formerly named Lance when he was a student of Yoketron.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech:
** Blackarachnia admonishes Meltdown for sacrificing his own humanity for his ego.
** Megatron calls out each member of the SUV on their self-importance and outlines how they are insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
** Megatron later chews Sentinel out, stating that his incompetence and desire for power made him an unworthy Magnus and that he's responsible for the deaths of Jetfire and Jetstorm along with Cybertron's destruction.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Lockdown, of all bots, destroy Swindle's operation to save Ratchet and Fanzone. In "Optimus Rising", he receives a statue in memory of him alongside statues of Master Yoketron and Prowl.
* RefusalOfTheCall: Most of Team Prime sans Optimus and Ratchet refuses to aid the people of Cybertron for locking them up in the stockades.
* ReplacementGoldfish:
** Since being with Optimus is not possible, Blackarachnia decides to be with the techno-organic clone of him.
** Jazz went through this since everyone was accustomed to Prowl long before he arrived.
%%* RetiredBadass: Fanzone.
* TheReveal: Sari learns that she was created by Primus.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Powermaster Optimus takes on the entire Decepticon army to avenge Sentinel and the Elite Guard. And based on the massacre, Optimus is clearly winning.
* SadisticChoice: Megatron presents this to Optimus that he either help him escape to Earth or let Kaon be destroyed along with possibly hundreds of innocents and never see Sari again.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: Convinced by Sari, Omega Supreme heads back to Kaon to rescue the captured Autobots and their allies.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Swindle attempts to flee after the battle is over. Instead, he gets trapped in his storage dimension.
* ShesAllGrownUp: Sari has grown a lot. Prowl commented she has become a beautiful human woman.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Implied. Ratchet and Arcee have grown quite close since the Season 3 finale.

* TemptingFate: At the moon, Sentinel boasts to his troops about his plan on attacking the Decepticons when their guard is down. However, the Decepticons are aware of their presence and fire their artillery at them.
* ThirdWheel: Bumblebee feels sad that he left Sari alone for ten years and he has to come back when her life was doing fine. Sari informs him that life was miserable. This also applies to Cade.
* ThrownOutTheAirlock: Ratchet and Fanzone launch Rattletrap into outer space for causing a lot of the trouble in the first place.
* TimeSkip: Transformers Animated Season 4 takes place ten years after the original series.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Blitzwing was the only one who questions Megatron's slow descent into madness and his increasingly questionable actions. This culminates in him trying to usurp his leader to prevent Megatron from causing even more death and destruction in his insainty and later making a HeelFaceTurn with Lugnut to help the Autobots in the final battle.
* TookALevelInKindness: Fanzone shows more appreciation towards the Autobots.
* TrashTheSet: The Autobots' Earth base is destroyed by Megatron in "Optimus Rising". Prime doesn't take this very well.
-->Optimus: This will be the last mistake Megatron makes.
* UnderstandingBoyfriend: Deconstructed. Unable to take the insanity of the Cybertronian Wars, Cade decides to break up with Sari.
* UndyingLoyalty:
** Shockwave will do anything for Megatron.
** Even after Sentinel's latest foul-up almost cause Cybertron to be conquered, Jetfire and Jetstorm remained by his side, which .
* UnexplainedRecovery: Blurr is revived prior to Season 4, with the events of "The Return of Blurr" script reading taking place offscreen.
* UniversallyBelovedLeader: Everyone on Cybertron pretty much agrees that Optimus Prime should be the next Magnus due to all his accomplishments and are angered when he and his team are imprisoned in the stockades. Even Megatron of all bots agrees Optimus is more worthy of being Magnus than Sentinel.
* UnwillingRoboticisation: Megatron intends to cyberform Earth to make it into a new Cybertron.
* VillainEpisode: "Ideals" primarily focuses on the Decepticons, in particular Megatron & Shockwave.
* VocalDissonance: The Shattered Glass version of Lugnut is revealed at the end of "Mirror Mirror" to have a very high-pitched voice in contrast to the deep, booming voice of his main universe self.
* WatchingTroyBurn: Megatron has Kaon's cannons to fire upon the Autobot base. Optimus and the Autobots manage to escape but everyone is distraught at what happened, especially Prime.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Scalpel's only animated appearance is in the first episode where he became a bomb to allow Megatron and the Decepticons to escape.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** Both Sentinel Magnus and Blackarachnia call out on Optimus for his mistakes, though Blackarachnia has a better point in her criticism of Optimus Prime.
** Scrapper and Mixmaster get fed up with Bulkhead continually judging them as bad guys, pointing out that it's his fault they got caught in the war between Autobots and Decepticons in the first place, and the reason they are even working for Dirt Boss is partially because Bulkhead created Dirt Boss in the first place (albeit unintentionally), leading Scrapper and Mixmaster to become enslaved. Bulkhead didn't take it well.
** Downplayed on the hero part with Sentinel but Alpha Trion chews him out for letting Megatron go because even if Cybertron will not be harmed, the Decepticons will have free reign to pillage the galaxy and their planet will have to live in fear.
* WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue:
** Wreck-Gar turns Trypticon Prison into a mayoral palace, one that the Dinobots also make into their own castle.

** Swindle is still trapped in his storage dimension and will go out of business soon due to being unable to reach any of his customers.

** Bumblebee becomes the new drill sergeant, but unlike Sentinel, he's a CoolTeacher who actually treats his cadets with respect.
** The Shattered Glass Autobots and Decepticons declare peace between their factions.
** Sari remains on Earth and lives her life as she starts college.
** Optimus Prime leads the Autobots to a new age as Optimus Magnus.
* WhamShot: The final shot of the Shattered Glass universe reveals that Unicron is the SG equivalent of Cybertron here.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: PlayedForLaughs. Despite how very young they are, the children of Detroit know about income taxes and talk about revolution.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Primus tells Sari that no matter her origins and purpose, she is still her own person and has her decisions to choose.
* YouAreNotAlone: Sari's genuine sympathy towards Slipstream regarding how both of them had been abandoned by their friends touches the Decepticon femme into pulling a HeelFaceTurn.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: The Decepticons' reaction when seeing the Constructicons abandon their mission to destroy the Autobots and head into the Autobot base to drink oil.

* AdaptationalExpansion: Sentinel's GreenEyedMonster is fleshed out more in "Resurgence Part 2".
* AdaptationalWimp: Sentinel's first outing as Powermaster is worse than what happened in the old draft. He constantly gets knocked around by the Decepticons till only he had to resort to the Magnus Hammer to get some edge.
* AdaptedOut: Cade is no longer in this version and is instead replaced with a Bumblebee robot Professor Sumdac created.
* ButToMeItWasTuesday: Much to Bumblebee's annoyance, Ironhide has no memory of him from their days in bootcamp.
