The Tales of Team OMEN (in anachronic order) is a RWBY fanfiction written by [[https://archiveofourown.org/users/Squiped_Mew/pseuds/Squiped_Mew Squiped_Mew]]. It's an [[AlternateUniverse Alternate Universe]] where, through a domino effect of events, Oscar Pine, Mercury Black, Emerald Sustrai, and Neopolitan end up on the run from the authorities, who they have pissed off, Salem, who they have all deserted, and their own past choices and issues, all while trying to figure out a way to, if not save the world, at least help the people who actually are.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Oscar's hit with this the hardest, as his time being kidnapped by Salem and under the influence of the Grimm has definitely made him a bit more jaded.

* AdultFear: Ruby getting stuck in the Dust mine. Qrow, who is on the other side, can hear her, but not see her. And the group is forced to [[IWillOnlySlowYouDown leave her behind]] in order to catch up to Watts's ship in order to protect the Beacon Relic. True, Ruby came back, but Qrow had no idea if she would or not. For all he knew, that could have been the very last thing she said to him.
** [[spoiler: Oscar's attempt on Ruby's life. It's very clear he [[BrainwashedAndCrazy isn't in his right state of mind]] but he still comes very close to going through with it.]]
** [[spoiler: The scene where Whitley is dragged out of hiding and threatened to be taken to Salem by [[PsychopathicManChild Tyrian]] is chock full of it. And keep in mind, at this point in time, Whitley has no family who would worry about his disappearance, as his father is stuck in Atlas and his mother is presumably dead. It would be a while before anyone realized he was missing.]]

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Much like the show, the characters all have bright and distinct hair colors.

* HarmfulToMinors: The show is bad enough, with Cinder coercing Emerald and Mercury into fighting for Salem, as well as everything that happpens to Oscar, but this fic takes it to a ''whole'' new level. Oscar gets kidnapped, experemented on, and turned into weapon for Salem, only breaking out due to [[spoiler: the influence of Ruby's silver eyes]]. Along with that, there's [[spoiler: Neo's backstory, where she's raised by her [[AbusiveParents Abusive Parents]] and eventually ends up killing them.]]

* GreyAndGreyMorality: What the fic runs on.

* WithUsOrAgainstUs: Subverted. While Oscar feels that way, it's obvious that Team RWBYJNR didn't really want to fight him at the charity ball, which [[AllAccordingToPlan ended up working out in team OMEN's favor.]]

* CorruptTheCutie: You might as well call this 'Corrupt The Cutie' the fanfiction. Oscar goes from a kind and determined kid, to a cold shell who will only obey his master's orders, with the only real emotions he feels being bouts of either extreme mania or depression. He gets better, though he never is the same.

* MagicalEye: Subverted horribly, as it's the results of Salem and Watts's experiments on Oscar, making his eyes look grimm-esque, for a time.

** While 'sunlit streets of fool's gold' is pretty much a [[BreatherEpisode Breather Episode,]] there's still an air of finality to it, as if the team is celebrating one last hurrah before everything goes to shit.

** [[spoiler: Neo is hit with this too, as she started out as a sweet and polite young girl, but is corrputed by her parents abuse, and eventually kills them, joining up with Roman and starting her life of crime.]]
* DarkerAndEdgier: While compared to the source material, there's shades of it, but despite all of the horrible things that have happened to our main cast, there's always a sense of hope to it.

* RedEyesTakeWarning: Oscar's eyes when he's in Grimm mode.
