When they fought briefly, Power Girl easily won, not even needing to use half her powers. * TheMaze: During the mass power outage that heralded Matarael's arrival, [[spoiler: Dark Centurion applies some magic to turn the access tunnels into this, trapping the pilots in order to murder them.]]

* MythologyGag: Asuka often calls Rei "Wonder Girl" in the ADV English dub of Eva. The pun of Rei ''actually'' being [[Franchise/WonderWoman Wonder Girl]] is not something that just this 'fic has noticed.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Her intervention with the Jet Alone demonstration [[spoiler: results in things going much worse, including Misato breaking an arm and getting a nearly fatal dose of radiation.]] To be fair, [[ALessonInDefeat Apollo goaded her into interfering]] to [[CharacterDevelopment teach her]] that she shouldn't necessarily always [[JustFollowingOrders follow orders]]. Also happens when Poseidon grabs the IdiotBall after [[spoiler: Wonder Girl is apparently defeated by Gaghiel and decides to send a couple of {{Sea Monster}}s to help out... [[PoorCommunicationKills without telling anyone.]] The UN fleet that just got ravaged by the ''last'' SeaMonster to show up reacts [[ShootEverythingThatMoves pretty much how you'd expect.]]]]
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by [[spoiler:Hades]] ([[NeverMyFault despite it being his plan]]) after Matarael is defeated because [[spoiler: Dark Centurion]] sent [[spoiler: Cheetah, one of the few people who could navigate TheMaze,]] to kill the pilots when simply keeping them from their Evas until Matarael succeeded in causing Third Impact would have accomplished their goals.
* NoManOfWomanBorn: Rei is the Gods' Champion because of the Oracle's prophecy regarding TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt (a.k.a. Third Impact). The LoopholeAbuse is that Rei is a ''clone'', and not born normally.
* OffScreenMomentOfAwesome: Asuka [[spoiler: somehow manages to defeat an undead minotaur with her bare hands and claim one of its horns as a trophy.]] Although we don't get to see how she pulls this off, a later reveal ''[[Fanfic/SOE2LoneHeirOfKrypton gives us a pretty good idea]]''.

* ThePowerOfLove: This is pretty much the only thing that keeps Rei from immediately reporting everything to Gendo ([[WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove not that she realizes it at the time]]). Another, relatively minor example is when thinking of Rei makes Shinji go from [[spoiler: [[FaceDeathWithDignity accepting his imminent demise]] to [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome grabbing a sword and killing a hellhound.]]]]

* TropaholicsAnonymous: On an {{Omake}}, ''Leliel'' ends up going to a {{Kaiju}} support group for giant monsters that were [[NukeEm attacked with nukes]]. Led by Franchise/{{Godzilla}}. And which were [[EvenEvilHasStandards more than a little shocked to hear]] that Leliel was hit with [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill almost a thousand nukes]], decrying that HumansAreTheRealMonsters and [[HypocriticalHumor should just let them stomp all over]] [[TheTokyoFireball Tokyo in peace]]. Also a SugarWiki/{{Funny Moment|s}}.
* RightHandVersusLeftHand: What is happening with the gods, in a nutshell. [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt The Angels winning]] [[GodsNeedPrayerBadly would not help them any]], so they [[TheChosenOne choose Rei]] as their champion and even [[EnemyMine have banded together to deliver some hurt to the Angels when possible]]. This ends up in her facing off against [[spoiler:[[TheLegionsOfHell various demons]], a [[ZergRush really, 'really' big bunch]] of [[NightOfTheLivingMooks deceased soldiers]], and [[BossRush every angel killed so far]]. And also [[BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind having tea with the Rei that was before her.]]]]
