**Chapter 34's omake sees some of our cast sitting in a music club watching the band play. Said band consists of Kaworu on piano (doing a bit of Main/LampshadeHanging via sign), someone resembling one of the [[Franchise/UltraSeries Ultraman brothers]] on bass guitar, a drummer resembling one of the many [[Franchise/KamenRider Kamen Riders]], and Matt from ''{{Franchise/Digimon}}'' on harmonica. Leading the band? A [[Music/WeirdAlYankovic Westerner with long, curly brown hair, a loud Hawaiian shirt, jeans, and converse sneakers, playing the accordion]]. [[spoiler: The song they play is a variation of "Ode to a Superhero", the lead singer's parody of Billy Joel's "Piano Man", which fittingly sang about the plot of ''Film/SpiderMan1''.]]

While initially seeming to be well-meaning and kind, Shinji swiftly discovers that his mother is a manipulative, abusive {{Narcissist}} obsessed with using Evangelion Unit-01 as a monument to her legacy.
