In short, Levistus can be freed if a war is fought and won in his name without one drop of blood shed; the orchestrator of this clause, placed many millennia ago, believed that aggression between two groups would be difficult to resolve or win without even a single injury, but the Solid Vision system, a relatively recent invention, makes this possible if applied to Duel Monsters.]]

(His view is, if he in helps ''one'' EvilOverlord gain revenge against another, Good ultimately wins, although he's really OnlyInItForTheMoney.)]]

** Ace has [[Series/GameOfThrones "The Rains of Castamere"]] as her ringtone. (And uses it to troll Kenshin.)
** Sylvester quips, "Now... Let's study archaeology!" before his duel with Ember stars, a take-off of the Medic's catchphrase from ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2''.
* SealedEvilInACan: [[spoiler: Levistus combines this with a HumanPopsicle; he's trapped with a giant iceberg making him the ruler ''and'' prisoner of his realm. The Trope AndIMustScream technically applies too, but despite being unable to move, he seems far more involved in governing his domain than this condition would suggests.]]
* SuggestiveCollision: Ace and Kenshin get into one of these after another argument, causing Ace to land on top of Kenshin. Needless to say, she was embarrassed over the situation. (In a later chapter, they seem to have become an OfficialCouple.)

** The author's dislike of ''Anime/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries'' is shown in chapter 16 where Nichole and Jimmy's conversation relates some instances in the past where the card game became an AbsurdlyHighStakesGame. (Disassembling the notion that treating a "children's card game" as SeriousBusiness is silly.)
