* HypotheticalCasting: Nathanoraptor has commented that he sees Creator/ScarlettJohansson as Linda Eberhart, Creator/IdrisElba as Kyle Taymor and Creator/DaisyRidley as Alice Denham. He's also quite partial to the idea of Ivana Baquero as Collete and Nicola Peltz as Yolanda. He has also found appeal in the idea of casting Creator/TomHolland as Leon Gilbertson and Tim Roth as Nikolai. He even managed to later agree to casting Charlie Heaton as Drew, Harry Shum Jr. as Adrian, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Jack, Alex Pettyfer as Will, and Wil Traval as Khatin.

** After knocking the rescue team members into the ocean and breaking their boat, the tylosaurus focus more on the boat instead of the humans knocked into the water. Considering the boat was much larger (and the tylosaurus presumably thought said boat was a large turtle), it would be much more understandable for creatures of their massive size to focus their effort primarily on a similarly large target first instead of immediately focusing on comparatively smaller creatures that wouldn't be all that filling for them.

[[JustifiedTrope Justified]] in that, unlike in the original ''Series/PrehistoricPark'' and the stories from the Extinction World mythos, Prehistoric Earth didn't have the presence of a camera crew or intent of this story telling the events of a TV-show as an excuse for these elements' presence the way the aforementioned previous works did.

* ActionGirl: Alice and Collete.

to:

* AbortedArc: Several appeared over the course of the story.
** Nikolai was originally intended by Drew (the writer) to be the butt of a running gag in which Kyle constantly refers to him by the nickname 'Koli', which would have constantly annoyed Nikolai.
** Nikolai and Kyle were also initially planned by Nathanoraptor to have a rivalry between them during the earlier missions of the story, and this same planned arc even received a small degree of setup before behind the scenes strife caused it to never see the light of day.
** Adrian and Alice were initially planned at first to have a small romance between them. This idea was later changed to an intent for Adrian to just have a one-sided crush on Alice. And then any plans of romance between Alice and Adrian in any capacity (even a one-sided capacity) were scrapped altogether.
** The dynamic hinted at between Jack and Nikolai at the end of ''Alien Empire'' was initially intended to be extended upon in further chapters, complete with Nikolai himself playing a prominent role in Jack and Colette's mutual arcs later in the story.
** In fact, quite a large number of plans for various characters intended to play prominent roles ended up scrapped as a result of behind the scenes strife that occurred.
* ActionGirl: Alice Alice, Collete, and Collete.Cynthia.

Added DiffLines:

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Alice, despite having worked with various dangerous modern day animals prior to being hired to work at Prehistoric Earth, seems rather jarringly nervous during the events of the mission in ''New Beginnings'' and not at all like the unflappable and collected action girl she is throughout the rest of the story. Jack similarly starts out as a one-dimensional jokester before later being revealed to have substantially larger amount of depth and layers to his personality.
* CoolBoat: The Ancient Mariner, which the rescue team uses for Mesozoic ocean animal-based missions.
