He even helps out in the final battle against the Equinox. It is strongly implied that Slendy is not a game character, but is actually the real thing, somehow inside the games.

* HighlyVisibleNinja: [[spoiler: Silica]] becomes a ninja in SAO, thanks to Kiritama's influence early in the game and by some strange twist of {{Fate}}, she is the player who can actually use ninja tools (unlike some other wannabes) but she is also prone to going on "cool monologues" while jumping from tree to tree.

...Except that ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' launches. Which, by choice of [[{{Fate}} FATE]], mysteriously glitches, giving Kirito the powers and garb of [[ComicallyInvincibleHero Saitama]] himself.

* ABoyAndHisX: Suguha's real-life bicycle becomes sentient and becomes a loyal pet/familiar.

* ShowWithinAShow: OnePunchMan is also fictional in this setting. Kazuto and Suguha are big fans.

Kirigaya Kazuto/Kirito and his little sister Suguha happen to notice OnePunchMan on the [=TV=], and enjoy watching it together. They're talking and interacting more than they have in years, and nothing can go wrong now...

They even added Argo by a comical DealWithTheDevil, and she subsequently added Sinon. After this, they finally managed to get every other girl in the United Heroes Association involved with the idea. They succeed in Chapter 32.]]

* WeaponOfChoice: Everyone has their own. Asuna dual wields Elucidator and Fafnir's Fang (The only one who has that ability), Silica uses a fuuma shuriken Yamata-no-Yorochi (Ninja roleplaying), Lisbeth has Mjolnir (the best hammer for the blacksmith), etc.

FATE wants to neutralize Kiritama because he is basically a joke that has gotten out of hand and is damaging reality. He set up a literal six dimensional chessboard to isolate him from allies and bury him in chains. DESTINY is more sympathetic to Kiritama and other humans but can't openly oppose FATE and so he [[SpannerInTheWorks accidentally]] alters FATE's chessboard.

When going through town, or other populated areas, Kirito and Alice pass him off as an IllBoy, much to his consternation. [[spoiler: Tiese, who is fused with Pureblood Vampire, also has this to an even greater extent, to the point Alice compared her to a corpse.]]
