* Having crossover fanfiction wouldn't usually be considered a FandomSpecificPlot, but the MLP fandom has a disproportionate amount of them compared to most for some reason. It may have to do with one of the [[FalloutEquestria fandom's most beloved fanfictions also being a crossover... ]]

** Trixie being/being considered for Luna's apprentice.

* "Spike gets turned into a pony" (often a pegasus, for some reason) is also prety common, either [[BalefulPolymorph accidentally]] or deliberately in order to impress Rarity. If Dinky was in the fic she'd either be embarrassed of her mom, but learn to accept her by the end, or would be the helpful daughter. This plot has since faded out, with more fans preferring Derpy as just being a klutz with lazy eye instead of disabled, and the only remander of it is Derpy calling Ditzy "muffin".

* There's a surprisingly large number of fanfics about the background ponies Vinyl Scratch and Octavia--who, being a modern techno DJ and classical musician respectively--somehow have to work together, whether they go to the same university, get assigned the same radio show, or become roommates. HilarityEnsues.

** Another type fo fic singled out by Equestria Daily is "Rainbow Dash breaks her wings". The difference, however, is whether it's a temporary injury (HurtComfortFic) or permanent (DarkFic). Some ''really'' dark fics have Rainbow Dash's wings ripped off entirely. Don't bother writing these types of fics. They have actually been banned entirely from Equestria Daily, and probably Fimfiction as well.

(though it went a different route, using the accident to give her a new fandom)
