** Regarding the DistantFinale ending to ''WesternAnimation/ChannelChasers'', do not say that the mother of Timmy's children Tommy and Tammy is explicitly Tootie [[note]]of course, there's nothing wrong with having Tootie being the mother your own personal headcanon or in fanfics[[/note]]. Who the mother is supposed to be (confirmed by WordOfGod) is [[AmbiguousSituation ambiguous]]. Also, do not use the live action movies (where Timmy ends up with Tootie) as evidence that confirms Tootie is the mother, as those entries [[CanonDiscontinuity completely ignore]] the ending to ''Channel Chasers'' as a whole and thus have no bearing on who the mother is.

Franchises with their own pages:
* ''FandomEnragingMisconception/MyLittlePony''

* ''Franchise/MyLittlePony'':
** Confusing characters for each other, particularly cross-generation. Confusing Glory (Gen. 1) for Rarity (Gen. 4) is a bad idea.
** ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTales'' is not Generation 2, it's just a second Generation 1 cartoon. Generation 2 did not have a cartoon; it [[VideoGame/MyLittlePonyFriendshipGardens did have a game]] and some European comics though.
** ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'':
*** The show is ''not'' a new installment of ''My Little Pony 'n Friends'' from 1986 or any other G1 or G3 show. ''Friendship is Magic'' rebooted the whole franchise entirely from the ground up, save for character names.
*** The show is ''not'' based on a toy line from TheEighties. The other way around: A toy line from TheNewTens is based on the show!
*** In the same vein, bronies are ''not'' necessarily fans of the toys. They're only interested in the storytelling material. They see the toys as merchandise for the show, and even then only if they are what the bronies call "show accurate", i.e. if they look the same on the toy shelf as on TV. And since Creator/{{Hasbro}} doesn't have too good a track record of achieving that, bronies are more likely to give their money to licensees or creative fans.
*** Bronies and ''My Little Pony'' collectors are not one and the same, but two separate groups of fans. They share a few [[FanConvention fan conventions]] because the classic collectors' [=PonyCons=] have discovered that it's easier for them to survive if they also appeal to the masses of bronies. But that's about it.
*** Not all bronies are men. One out of five identifies as female, and some of them are famous in various fields of the fandom. The pegasisters don't take being ignored by the world outside the fandom too kindly.
*** The show was neither invented by Creator/{{Hasbro}}, nor is it made by Hasbro. The show was invented by Creator/LaurenFaust in opposition to Hasbro's own plans, and it is made by Creator/DHXMedia with little to no input from Hasbro themselves.
*** There are a few Brony Furries, but brony-ness and the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom don't tend to overlap very much. Accusing bronies of being furries because they are fans of animal characters will quickly throw them on the defensive, though, [[http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa237/LqUser/Untitled-1.png and used to be really popular among the hatedom]]. There are plenty of Bronies who don't care for any animal character who isn't from ''MLP'', and plenty of Furries who are uninterested in ''MLP'''s ponies, even if they're drawn as anthros. A lot of this comes from ''Website/FourChan'', where the fanbase more or less got its start and and helped establish a lot of the fanbase's more beloved elements (the word "Brony", the name "Derpy Hooves", terms like "plot", just to name a few): 4Chan hates furries (and even now there is an explicit "ponies only; no anthros" rule on the /mlp/ board) so that sentiment boiled down.
*** There was a time when bronies were vehemently [[PaedoHunt suspected of pedophilia]]: why else would they watch a show for little girls, if not to be able to prey on them? But pedophilia in bronydom doesn't seem to be more common than in the population at large; the few bronies discovered with child porn have generated horror and astonishment in the parts of the fandom that know them. The average brony is more likely to resent little girls for tempting Hasbro to spoil the show with pink pony princesses (look up "Pinklestia").
*** Whatever else you accuse the entirety of the bronydom of, the bronies ''will'' prove you wrong. If you consider them all gay, they'll give you examples of straight men who are married to women, maybe even with children. Yes, some bronies are gay, but so is the lead singer of Music/JudasPriest, so that doesn't say anything. If you call them all girly, weakly wimps, they'll show you military bronies (the singer-songwriter [=BlackGryph0n=] had almost become a paratrooper) and Dustykatt a.k.a. The Manliest Brony in the World. If you consider them all perverts, they'll ask you if you really believe that 10,000 of such perverts could have held a meeting at Baltimore Convention Center with neither the Convention Center itself nor the police interfering.
*** Don't even think about referring to Spike the dragon as Twilight's pet. Not only is he Twilight's assistant (and he's more like a little brother or a son to her than a pet), but Twilight also used to have an actual pet (an owl named Owlowiscious).
*** Rainbow Dash ''is'' female. So are Smolder and Ocellus.
*** Claiming that all Bronies are sexual deviants who only watch the show so they can fap to RuleThirtyFour is a surefire way to get yourself banished to the Moon and demonstrate that either A: you are a troll, or B: you only know about the fandom through {{Shallow Parod|y}}ies. Sure, the show has plenty of pornographic fanart and fanfiction, but so does just about any sufficiently large fandom; this show's is just more shocking (and therefore noticeable) because of the perceived "kiddyness" of the source material.

* Hardcore Creator/HannaBarbera fans will likely get annoyed if you confuse WesternAnimation/{{Snagglepuss}} with WesternAnimation/ThePinkPanther, although it's admittedly an easy mistake to make, seeing as they both happen to be large pink cats. ** Arnold doesn't wear a skirt/kilt. This was misconception is even joked about in the show itself. It's actually just a long, plaid shirt he wears underneath his sweater.

* When discussing WesternAnimation/OswaldTheLuckyRabbit around his fans, don't mistake him for WesternAnimation/{{Oswald}} the Octopus from Creator/NickJr due to [[NamesTheSame the name]] [[OneMarioLimit being more recently attributed]] to the latter. Also, don't mistake him for WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls''
** Do ''not'' mispronounce the title as "The Powderpuff Girls" in front of any fan of the show. Not unless you want to get beat up as badly as the show's villains, or at least get yelled at.
** If you are from Latin America, their name is "Las chicas superpoderosas", period. Calling them "Las chicas coquetas" (the first translation used, and quickly dropped by the network) will not end well.
** For Brazilian Portuguese, Don't call them "As Meninas Superperigosas".
%%* Never call ''WesternAnimation/{{Robotboy}}'' "Little Blue Boy".
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}'':
** Chuckie is [[SpellMyNameWithAnS "Chuckie" not]] [[Film/ChildsPlay "Chucky"]].
** And his father is "Chas" not "Chaz".
* ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'': Don't call the 2017 installment a reboot. It's the final season.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'': It's [[CamelCase SpongeBob SquarePants]], not "Sponge Bob Square Pants" or "Spongebob Squarepants".
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'':
** Referring to any of the full Gems with male or gender-neutral pronouns, and referring to Stevonnie and Smoky Quartz with gender-specific pronouns. Especially singling out Gems subject to ViewerGenderConfusion (like the Rubies, Jasper, or Bismuth) as "not really female" and referring to them as male or ambiguous.
** Saying that [[OfficialCouple Ruby and Sapphire]] are "JustFriends", "gal pals", "besties", "sisters", or anything else thereof. In a figurative sense, the original French version of "Stronger Than You" and [[http://cartoonnetwork.tumblr.com/post/143917886040/love-is-always-the-answer-tag-a-bestie-whos-the a certain promo]] for the ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}'' Creator/{{Boomerang}} cartoon have learnt this the hard way. It's even sillier to do that now that, as of "Reunited", [[spoiler:the two are officially married]]. In the same vein, the fandom won't tolerate trying to deny that Pearl had been in love with Rose.
* In-universe example for ''WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries'': When Franchise/{{Superman}} mispronounces the name of Mr. Mxyzptlk (Mix-Yes-Spit-Lick) as Mr. Miz-Ill-Plick, said RealityWarper [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHJuEbNB0u8 promptly corrects him on it]]. This was done as a TakeThat to how his name was mispronounced in the later ''WesternAnimation/SuperFriends'' cartoons.
* Referring to ''WesternAnimation/ThomasTheTankEngine'' as "Thomas the Train", "Thomas the Tank", or especially "Thomas the Choo Choo Train" will guarantee you a kick in the rear from the fanbase.
