Having to go back to the Dursleys helps little in regards to his psychological health, even if he can keep them away with his newfound abilities.

Meanwhile, at the other side of the Atlantic, Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey manage to detect the psychic energy emitted by Harry, and, with the aid of Cerebro, Charles manages to find out what is going on, only for him to be forced - not too unwillingly - to reveal a secret he has had to keep for more than twenty years: Jean Grey is actually Lily Potter's (née Evans) twin sister, and she also has the ability to use magic. The reason why neither Jean nor her biological family remembered the connection was because Dumbledore used a [[LaserGuidedAmnesia Obliviate charm]] on the entire family to make them forget Jean was an Evans. Jean decides to do the correct thing and get Harry out of England, to take care of him and get him out of his funk. However, with Voldemort still on the loose, and a war in the horizon that Harry will have to get involved with no matter what he thinks, the X-Men will have to go to Britain and help Harry...

He tries to be a good person, and believes he has the good interests of Britain in his mind, but Harry rightfully points out that the way he does things (manipulating people, keeping tracking charms on Harry after saying he would stop using them, giving Death Eaters free reign while hoping they will repent on their own) do not exactly tell "good intentions".
** Several narrative lines about Dumbledore's thought-processes regarding Harry are quite disturbing. To wit, when he is forced to reveal to the Order that Harry was severely abused at the Dursleys, one of his thoughts is remembering that he had asked them to ''tone down'' the abuse, and that, ''for the most part'' they complied. And he considered this a ''good outcome''!

* BoobyTrap: Harry decides to change a few wood planks from the Vanishing Cabinet [[spoiler:Malfoy is going to use to let Death Eaters into Hogwarts]] with this idea in mind. [[spoiler:The results are quite... fatal, let's say.]]
* BoomHeadshot: surprising for a magic-based story, it can happen. [[spoiler:Harry uses an Explosive Charm against Lucius Malfoy, which blows up his head.]]
* ButThouMust: how Harry feels the situation is being presented to him re: going back to England, because, no matter how much Jean tells him he can simply choose not to go back, in the end they all but force him to do so. Of course, Jean has good reasons for this - she knows that Harry's plan to end his schooling and vanish from the magical world is a bit naive.

* DoubleStandard: Dumbledore is all about this, giving Death Eaters all the chances he can (and more) to "see the error of their ways" over protecting the innocents that are in danger of being attacked.

* ExpospeakGag: after [[spoiler:Jean]] is kidnapped by Death Eaters, Logan prepares a talking bomb for Harry to drop at the Death Eater safehouse where [[spoiler:Jean]] is. The bomb loudly exclaims it is an "exothermic reaction device" every second for half a minute. [[KillEmAll Obviously, Death Eaters don't know the chemical term for an explosion.]]

Played more straight with Dumbledore, who, while opposed to Voldemort, is willing to give Death Eaters free rein with the hope that they will repent on their own while berating Harry for defending himself.

They had a chance to make an awesome subplot out of it, and nothing came! Though, it could be said that FanFic/TheQueenWhoFellToEarth delivered on that promise.
