Glaive and Midnight also taunt Wanda and Vision about being unable to protect to other, [[spoiler: but the Black Order couple are also beaten at their [[HoistbyHisOwnPetard own game]] as Glaive is ironically killed when by Vision [[BackStab stabs him in the back with his own spear]] and Scarlet Witch [[MindOverMatter telekineticaly]] throws Promxia Midnight into one of her own bladed war machines. There's also he fact both couples are TogetherInDeath]].

Also, while Bond may be surrounded by allies, TrueCompanions and friends such as M, Moneypenny and Q who will help him even in dire situations, Blofeld would often kill {{Mooks}} on a whim.

** ''Film/{{Skyfall}}'': Raoul Silva and Bond. Both were at a time agents serving MI6 who had a close emotional relationship with the current M, with Silva saying that he was her "old favorite". Their key difference being that Bond remains largely in line with the old ways of doing things, whilst Silva tries harder to adapt to the modern world to the point where he becomes too dependent on the use of modern technology, computers in particular. Something that plays a key part in his downfall.

They're the two characters in the MCU who are most symbolically connected [[WordOfGod according to Joe Russo]] both Tony and Thanos are "[[WellIntentionedExtremist Futurists]]", they see the end goal and willingly do anything for what they perceive is for greater good which helped by the fact Tony is the first [[TheHero hero]] of the [=MCU=] while Thanos is the GreaterScopeVillain of the MCU. They are further entwined both using technology in battle, being the [[TeamDad father figure]] for their respective sides [[ParentalSubstitute especially for]] Spider-Man/Gamora, and Tony is also the only one Thanos addresses [[FirstNameBasis by name]] seeing Stark is another individual who is "[[NotSoDifferent burdened by knowledge]]". But with that being said where Thanos and Iron Man differ is in conviction, Tony continuously learn from his mistakes while Thanos is unwavering committed to his cause and only vaguely regrets his decision after he's lost everything [[spoiler: i.e sacrificed half the universe]].

* In Ang Lee's ''Film/{{Hulk}}'' Bruce Banner's father David essentially serves as this to him. Even Gen. Ross makes a big deal of, and fears, the fact that both are geneticists that were working on projects to try and improve and "toughen" the human body. After seeing what happens to his son David studies the effects and applications of gamma and eventually repeats the accident that created the Hulk on himself which also gives him superpowers as well. Though different ones, effectively being the Absorbing Man.

*** Loki is this for the titular hero being his [[CainAndAbel brother]] and {{Foil}}. Both princes are told from a young age that they're born to be kings, but only one of them can inherit the throne which they were both raised to desire. Both brothers initially have similar mindset, Thor is just as power hungry as Loki but unlike his younger brother he is open about his vain greed which leads to him attacking the Ice Giants and Odin to [[BroughtDowntoNormal depowering]] and banishing him to Earth as punishment. Loki makes use of the opportunity to seize the throne when Odin falls into his power coma and like Thor attacks the Ice Giants though Loki means to annihilate them [[spoiler: so nobody can no know he's actually one of them]]. By the end Thor has [[TaughtbyExperience learned]] from his mistakes and become a better person for it while Loki took much longer to lose his malicious nature.

*** Jonathan Pangborn is a neutral counterpart to Strange having turned to the magic arts to heal his crippling injury, but unlike Strange Pangborn did not pursue learning magic instead selfishly leaving once magic had healed his spine. Strange however learned his lesson and didn't heal his hands knowing it was his arrogance that led to him crippling them in the first place.

** In ''Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol2'' [[spoiler: Ego is this for his own [[ArchNemesisDad son]] Peter/Star-Lord both are bearded charismatic goofy humanoid celestials [[ReallyGetsAround who sleep with a lot of alien women]]), (pretty much to ExtremeOmnisexual levels). Also they both have a love of 80s music which they get from Meredith (Peter's mom) but Ego ultimately see no value in love preaching to Peter that as gods they transcend such petty emotions which goes against everything Peter believes, and not to mention that Ego killed Meredith so she not longer distract him which [[YouKilledMyFather sets]] Peter off. Their connection and contrast becomes greater when Peter taps into the celestial power and fights his father but unlike Ego he has capacity to give up his god powers]].

*** Corvious Glavie and Proxima Midnight are this for Vision and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch aside minor details like two of them wearing a cape and both pairs being respective BattleCouple for their teams; but Vision and Wanda are compassionate while Glavie and Midnight are merciless impaling Vision from behind and brutalizing Wanda. [[spoiler: But the Black Order couple are also beaten at their [[HoistbyHisOwnPetard own game]] as Glaive is ironically killed when by Vision [[BackStab stabs him in the back]] and Scarlet Witch [[MindOverMatter telekineticaly]] throws Promxia Midnight into one of her own bladed war machines. There's also he fact both couples are TogetherInDeath]].

* ''Film/XMenApocalypse'': The eponymous villain is this to Professor X; they operate in a similar manner when it comes to recruiting mutants and converting them to a specific belief system. What separates the BigBad from the BigGood is merely the differences in their personalities. [[WordOfGod Director]] Creator/BryanSinger [[http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/05/02/x-menas-professor-x-is-christ-and-apocalypse-is-a-false-god labels]] Apocalypse as TheAntichrist (who thrives on mass murder and purports to have been "born from death") and Charles as the [[MessianicArchetype Christ figure]] (a pacifist who wishes to preserve life). Both are capable of treating the world as their personal playground, but only the former exercises MightMakesRight; the latter espouses WithGreatPowerComesGreatResponsibility. They both enjoy being idolized; En Sabah Nur wants nothing less than to be worshipped as a god while Xavier wants to be adored as a paternal figure. Apocalypse's LackOfEmpathy is the antithesis of Charles being the [[TheEmpath personification of empathy]], and these traits are exhibited when they interact with their underlings. The selfish Apocalypse pretends to be attentive towards his Horsemen, but he's in truth a BadBoss who is only concerned about how their superpowers will serve his goal for world domination. The altruistic Professor X is a CoolTeacher who cherishes his students and works hard to engage their intellect and ameliorate their psychological health. As a tyrant in Ancient Egypt, En Sabah Nur had utilized fear and violence to control his subjects; Xavier, on the other hand, relies on love and harmony to exert his authority over his surrogate family.
